A Message From Your Principal
Greetings, Eames Way Families,
Welcome to June! Students in all grades kicked of the week with an enrichment presentation from the "Science Wizard" -- It was an exciting presentation full of surprises and laughs! Thank you to our EWS PTO for providing this opportunity for our students.
Our kindergarten students also hosted their Year-End Celebration and second graders held their dress-rehearsal performance of "Charlotte's Web" for EWS students! We are so proud of each and every one of them for all of their hard work and look forward to their official performance next Tuesday!
Don't forget that next Monday is EWS Field Day! On Monday we also encourage all of our PTO members and volunteers to stop by for EWS Volunteer Appreciation Day! We can't express how grateful we are for all of our EWS families and volunteers who have helped make this school year such a success!
Read on to enjoy some of our many happy moments this week -- And have a fantastic weekend!
With Best Wishes,
Ms. Bishop, Principal

Medication pick up by June 13 12:10pm:
If your child has medication stored at school, a parent/guardian will need to come to the health office to pick it up. The school is unable to properly store medications over the summer. Any medication remaining at school after the last student day will be properly disposed of.
The last day of school is June 13 and dismissal is at 12:10pm. Please reach out to Nurse White to schedule a pick up time via email awhite@mpsd.org or phone call 781-319-3945. Thank you for your cooperation.
Seasonal allergies (hay fever or seasonal allergic rhinitis):
Occur when outdoor molds release their spores or trees, grasses and weeds release tiny pollen particles into the air
Usually develop by 10 years of age
The immune system releases histamine into the bloodstream to defend against these allergens and the release of these chemicals are what causes the symptoms
Treatment of allergies: No real cure for seasonal allergies, but it is possible to relieve symptoms
Reducing or eliminating exposure to allergens- keep windows closed, use air conditioning if possible and change your air filter often
Remove shoes at the door to avoid tracking allergens to the rest of the house
Wash hands and face after being outside and try to avoid touching your face
Rinse off in the shower or tub before bed
Change pillow cases often during allergy season
If reducing exposure to allergens isn’t possible or is ineffective reach out to your primary care provider about available medication options(non-drowsy antihistamines, nasal sprays and eye drops)
Reminders as the weather changes:
Hydration: Please be sure your child brings a water bottle to school each day-preferably one that is easily refillable at our refill stations.
Snacks: Please remember to send in a healthy snack for your child everyday. Some students may need an additional afternoon snack.
Clothing: Have children dress in layers-the building can become quite warm, and children can overheat very easily.
Sun safety: Sunscreen must be applied at home before coming to school.
Tick safety: There has been an increase in the prevalence of ticks. Parents should frequently check their children for ticks, especially around the ankles, legs, and head region after coming inside from any outdoor activities. Bug spray must be applied at home before coming to school.
