Message from the Principal
It was a great first week back together, getting back into rhythms and good habits. Thank you for all of your help with getting your child back into the routine of checking homework each evening!
Some new information is below. Please note that if your child is interested in RAM Drama this year, there is information on try-outs below. Announcements will be made this week at school. There is also information about Mini-Cheer, yearbook orders, and CCP.
In addition, there will be information coming out this week about our Eagle Hang-out that will be after school on the 23rd.
Please also note there is still time to sign up for Soaring Singers if your child was not already enrolled first semester.
Have a great week!
Sincerely,
Tim Holcombe
College Credit Plus (CCP) Informational Meeting
Tuesday, January 21st If your son or daughter is interested in participating in College Credit Plus for the 25-26 school year, please plan to attend this informational meeting. CCP is open to all qualifying students in grades 7-12. This meeting will cover a variety of topics including application instructions, eligibility, pros/cons, etc. Local college reps will also be present to give updated CCP information for their individual college/university. In order to participate in the CCP program during the 25-26 school year a parent/guardian must either: 1) attend the informational meeting or 2) request a recording of the meeting from Mrs. Birr. She can be reached by email at bbirr@oregoncs.org or by phone at 419-697-3434 x2. Additionally, all students interested in the CCP program for the 25-26 school year must submit the Intent to Participate form to their school counselor by April 1, 2025. The form will be handed out at the information meeting or will be emailed if a recording of the meeting is requested. Current CCP students do not have to attend the meeting/request a recording; however, they must turn in a new Intent to Participate form by April 1, 2025.

GOAT Typing!
Practicing skills (whether it be organization, math, writing, hitting a softball, etc.) is the way to improve and to build long-term skill. In our world, strong keyboarding skills can lend themselves to so many careers and so many hobbies. These skills can strengthen how we perform in other ways.
Because of this, Ms. Sweet sets monthly practice goals for students and we have many students each month who far surpass the goal.
Congratulations this month to Aaveri Delgado, Amelia Scuralli-Huddleston, and Mila Mausser who took over the leaderboard for Typing Club in December! Aaveri had 8 hours and 19 minutes of typing time and Mila was just 10 minutes behind her!
Great job to all who work to meet the goal!
Clay High School Mini Cheer Clinic

Attendance Matters!
We are incredibly proud of our students for demonstrating their commitment to education by attending school regularly. By building strong attendance habits, they are staying engaged, achieving success, and staying on track to meet major educational milestones.
As we begin the 3rd quarter, we are excited to continue our school-wide attendance incentives. Every Friday, students with green attendance status on their charts will be entered into a raffle, with winners receiving prizes!
In addition to our weekly raffles, we are also looking forward to rewarding students' dedication with larger events. One such highlight is just around the corner. Mark your calendars—our Eagle Hangout event is coming up on January 23. Students in the green will earn a FREE ticket to this fun and rewarding event!
Thank you for supporting our efforts to promote excellent attendance. Let’s keep showing up and making a difference!
Congratulations to the following students who proved Attendance Matters through staying in the Green on their charts: Veronica Alejo-Vizcon, Vinicio Becerra, Hope Boley, Emmett Lathrop, Braelynn Pollauf, Astreya Slygh, Paisley Smith, Derek, Sowell, Carter Stowe, Rayden Strauss, Layla Valentine.

As part of celebrating our DTooP, we have Spirit Day every other week. We ask our students to wear Green and Gold/Yellow on those days. This Thursday, January 16th is a Spirit Day.
