Native Wildflower Planting The City of Burnsville Natural Resources is hosting a volunteer event on Saturday, October 19 at Interlachen Park Volunteers will be helping to install a prairie. It’s also a chance to get outdoors and learn more about native plants. Currently we still have room for about 15 people to sign up. No prior experience needed! Feel free to invite your friends and family members as well.

Savage Halloween Bash Join us for a fun volunteer opportunity for students. The City of Savage Parks & Recreation Department Halloween Bash will take place on Saturday, October 19 from 5 pm-8 pm. Volunteers would be needed from 4:30 pm until 8:30pm. It is held inside the Savage Sports Center Dome at 13450 Dakota Avenue. The volunteers would be helping us run fun activity stations for children that come to the event with their families. Our last Halloween Bash we had over 800 kids attend
Camp Enterprise Sponsored by Minnesota and Wisconsin Rotary Clubs This is an amazing opportunity for students to explore the world of business and entrepreneurism. The Burnsville Breakfast Rotary Club is willing to sponsor two students from BHS to participate in the Camp. Thus, all that it will cost you is your time, energy and interest!
The Camp takes place Thursday – Saturday Oct 31-Nov. 2 at Camp Courage located in Maple Lake MN. Juniors and Seniors from Minnesota and Western Wisconsin High Schools will dive into and explore the free enterprise system by listening to a variety of speakers but most significantly be assigned to a team to present (based on a case study) to role play young entrepreneurs making a 30 minute pitch to an investment committee of venture capitalists to fund the launch of your team’s business.

Blazette Dance Invitational The Blazette Dance Invite is Saturday, November 16th from approx 9:30-4. Each volunteer will receive a ticket for a free slice of pizza and a bottle of water! I have attached the sign-up link.

BrainPower in a BackPack in Main Cafeteria After School
BrainPower in a BackPack is offered as a volunteer opportunity each Thursday afterschool from 2:36-3:20. 1 hour of service is given for participation. Please join us and help provide food support to students and their families as BrainPower gets ready for the weekly Thursday food pack for 750 students across the district.

The Free Book Buggie. Each Saturday will be the Free Book Buggie book sort event from 10a-12p or Tuesday after school in C100. This event asks volunteers to count book donations, sort donated books by reading level and category, and load books into buggy for upcoming events. *Free T-Shirt available in Ms. Jackson Floback’s office
Food Resources Data VerificationHUNGER FREE AMERICA is a nonpartisan, national nonprofit group working to enact the policies and programs needed to end domestic hunger and ensure that all Americans have sufficient access to nutritious food.
Hunger Free America needs your help creating the most current database of food resources. The crowd-sourced information will be freely available to all who might need assistance and will help the national USDA Hunger Hotline provide the most current information to callers.
Event description:
- This is an entirely virtual event that can be done on your own schedule.
- Complete the registration form on the Hunger Free America website and they will contact you with details to get started.
- Call food pantries and soup kitchens to verify and update existing data in our National Database.
- This is an ongoing need that you can continue to work on for as much time as you'd like.

Friendship Bracelet for People Experiencing Food Insecurity Broadway Community sets an abundant table, believing that everyone deserves justice, dignity, health, and wholeness. Over the last 40 years, they have served thousands of New Yorkers experiencing homelessness, hunger, and poverty.
Make a friendship bracelet to brighten someone's day and give them a constant reminder that they are not alone. Include a short note wishing them well and sign it with your name and hometown (ie. Ellie from New Lenox, IL).
