Dear Parents,

I hope that you had a wonderful weekend! It's hard to believe that winter break is right around the corner. A few quick notes:

• Late Arrivals - As the weather gets colder, more parents are driving their child(ren) to school. Please know that your child is expected to be in seat when the second bell rings at 8:39 AM. If you are unable to make it to school by this time, you MUST walk your child into the school building. Students should not be entering the building alone.
• Bittersweet News - Emily Pyzik, one of our music teachers, applied for and was offered the Vocal Music position at Baker Middle School. Please join me in wishing Emily all the best. We have been extremely fortunate to have had Emily at Wattles on and off for several years, and we will certainly miss her passion and the way that she inspires our students.
• Lost & Found - All lost & found items will be bagged and donated on December 20th.

We are getting new paint on the main interior walls of our building! Thank you to the Wattles PTO and TSD for supporting this project. Research supports choosing soft colors for an optimal learning environment.

Are you looking for preschool? Please look at the flyer below for information. Please note that pre-kindergarten is free to TSD residents.

The Troy School District is beginning to identify eligible kindergarten students for the 2025-2026 school year. If you have a child who will be five years old ON or BEFORE September 1, 2025, or you know of a neighborhood child that you could refer, you and the perspective neighborhood family will need to contact the elementary building your student will be attending and add them to the school's incoming kindergarten list. To add your incoming kindergartner to the Wattles list, please call (248) 823-3400. Information and procedures for kindergarten enrollment will be sent via email after winter break.

A grandmother in our Wattles community is collecting pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House. Please consider snapping off your pop tabs and sending them to school with your child.

TSD students are invited to participate in the upcoming MLK Day Creative Contest! Reflect on a time when you made a positive difference in your community and consider how that experience impacted you and those around you. Share your reflection through a video, essay, poem, or a portfolio of visual artwork.
