Holy Rosary
NEWSLETTER | TERM 2| WEEK 3| 16 MAY 2025
Dear Jesus,
We ask for your blessing on our school community.
Encircle us with your love and care.
Let our love for others guide our thoughts and actions.
Help Holy Rosary to be a place of sound learning and new discoveries.
Grant that those who belong, those who teach and those who learn will, like St Dominic, find you to be a source of truth to be shared with all those we meet.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen
Dear Parents, Friends, Guardians and Staff,
It was truly an inspiration to see our students looking so smart and proud in their school uniforms for photo day this week. We also took the opportunity to capture a whole-school photograph - a special moment for me personally, as it was the first time Iโve seen our entire school community gathered together. The beautiful autumn weather made the occasion even more memorable.
We have some bittersweet news to share. Mrs. Lisa Monzu will be transferring to Holy Spirit Primary School in City Beach. Lisa has been a cherished member of our community for many years, both as a parent and as our dedicated Finance Officer. Her warmth, professionalism, and commitment will be deeply missed by staff and students alike. On behalf of the entire school community, I extend our heartfelt thanks to Lisa and wish her every success in her new role. We are currently in the process of recruiting for this important position.
On a positive note, we are delighted to welcome Mrs. Tammy Forrest as the new Year 1 Dominic teacher. Mrs. Forrest brings over six years of experience teaching Year 1 and is known for her passion and dedication to early years education. To ensure a smooth transition and continuity for our students, Miss. Ayling will continue to support the Year 1 Dominic classroom throughout next week.
Our Friendology program continues to thrive, thanks to the leadership of Mrs. Butson and the wellbeing team. Their efforts are helping our students build strong, positive relationships. We encourage you to support this journey at home by reinforcing these important social and emotional skills.
Next week, I will be participating in professional development for four days. Iโll begin with a conference at Hale School focused on purpose, identity, and leadership in support of studentsโ social-emotional and academic wellbeing. Hale is also hosting a public lecture by Ben Walden on โPresence and Communication,โ which is open to all parents - details are included in our newsletter.
Later in the week, I will join the Catholic Leaders Development Program led by Dr. Pina Ford. While the timing is not ideal, I am confident the school will be in the capable hands of Miss. Dwyer and Mr. Kinder during my absence.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership in our studentsโ learning journey.
Our schools mission: Every child at Holy Rosary is valued, known and heard, empowering them to develop their strengths in doing good for their world and forming enduring friendships to flourish in their joy filled childhood.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Warm regards,
Michael O'Dwyer
Principal

Thank you to our amazing community for a successful Book Fair. We sold over $9,000 of stock in 2 days and received a stack of free books plus money to spend in our library space. If the book you purchased sold out, a re-order has been placed and I will deliver these to your child at school as soon as they arrive.
Next Wednesday is National Simultaneous Storytime and we are so excited to join in with the rest of Australia as we read โThe Truck Cat.โ Your child may have a truck or a cat book to read at home this week from the library!!
