Carr Talk 6/10-6/13
6/10-6/13
Message from Dr. Argento
Greetings Carr Cubs and Families!
I can't believe it is the last week of school! Just last week, we celebrated our volunteers, 5th grade Field Day, and we wrapped up with amazing student performances including our 1st grade Folklorico dancers.
We had not one but TWO Principals for the Day this week. Principal McKittrick and Principal De La Cruz! They were a dynamic duo partnering throughout the day to celebrate our summer birthdays, deliver prizes, and help with the flag assembly. Their quotes:
" Being a principal is fun. I like being a principal because I get to help others." -Principal McKittrick
"Being the principal feels calm and good! I like the job that we did." -Principal De La Cruz
This newsletter marks my first as the official principal of Carr Elementary School. Thank you for welcoming me to the team. I am so happy to continue to be with our Carr Cubs, the Carr Staff, and the Carr Community. I look forward to starting a fresh 2024-2025 school year with you. Please see important information about the final week of school below. Don't forget...12:00 dismissal on the last day June, 13th.
Have a wonderful summer!
Dr. Argento

Winning Yearbook Cover Design
Congratulations to Avery Sekine for winning our very first yearbook cover contest! Her design is featured on the front cover of our 2023-24 Carr Elementary yearbook. All 5th graders were invited to create an original piece of artwork with the theme “The wonderful world of Carr Elementary”.
Six entries were received, and after two rounds of voting, Avery’s design received the highest number of votes from her fellow 5th graders.
Runner-up was Saya Arias Korogi whose artwork is featured on the back cover along with designs by Xiomara Aguilar, Jasenne Basuel, Alex De La Cruz Campos, and Estella Loza. A huge round of applause and thanks to our talented young artists for participating and sharing their creativity!
