Averill Park HS
Summer 2017 Newsletter
A Message from the APHS Leadership Team
We hope that you are all enjoying your summer vacations! There is much going on at the High School during the months of July and August - we have some building upgrades occurring in the 100-wing of the school, we are hosting our Summer Blended Learning program, and much work is being done to prepare for the start of the school in September.
Students should expect to be able to view their schedules in SchoolTool during the week of August 28. New students to APHS, including transfer students and all incoming 9th grade students, are invited to attend an orientation and walk-through on September 5 starting at 2 PM in the auditorium. These students will meet briefly with the administration before being able to walk through their schedules, meeting their teachers in their classrooms, and attending our Club Fair and Ice Cream Social in the cafeteria.
Summer assignments for various courses can be found on the HS website. The direct link to access information is here: https://averillpark.k12.ny.us/resources-aphs/summer-assignments
We hope that this summer provides you with time to recharge before we begin again in September. We look forward to the start of the 2017-18 school year!
If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please feel free to contact us.
Sincerely,
Ms. Michelle Tsao, Principal
Mr. Brian Bishop, Assistant Principal (Grades 10 and 12)
Mrs. Christina Mein, Assistant Principal (Grades 9 and 11)
