1st 6 Weeks of School at MHS
Meridian High School had their first successful pep rally in the elementary gym. The theme for the pep rally was to "Demolish the Eagles." All of the students at MISD were able to participate in the pep rally festivities.
The Varsity football team competed recently against Bruceville-Eddy. The boys had a strong beginning performance. We are looking forward to a great football year.

The first "Fun Friday" will take place at MHS on Sept. 20th. Students will participate in fun activities throughout the day to celebrate good attendance and their hard work for the 6 weeks. This activity will take place at least once per six weeks.
Parents it is important that when a student is absent, either a doctor note or a parent excuse is sent to the front office. Thank you for working together to make MHS the best high school around!

HS Volleyball is continuing to improve each match. Against Lingleville, Varsity lost to Lingleville in 4 and played some very good points. JV also played very well, losing a tight match. Both teams played extremely well last week against Aquilla. We will begin district on September 27th against Rio Vista at home. Varsity will begin at 4 and JV will follow.
JH Volleyball has improved so much since the first of the season. B team picked up a win against Italy in 2 and A team lost a nail biter. Their next game will be today against Frost at home. B team will play at 5 and A team will follow.
Cross Country continues to improve their times each week. All runners are rising to the competition against bigger schools and they have placed in the middle to higher end of the pack as a team at each meet. They still have 3 meets before their district meet on October 9th.
