School Expectations: Initial Thoughts
NMS's school rules revolve around being Respectful, Responsible, and Safe. If students are able to stay within these parameters, they will have a successful year. Cell phones and cell phone use is a big part of this.
Cell phones are not allowed to be used while at school between the hours of 7:55 AM and 3:00 PM. They are to be off and away ALL DAY. I share this with you because many may have gotten very comfortable with having their phones 24/7 during the summer months and transitioning back to school and the no cell phone rule may be challenging and create some withdrawal symptoms. Perhaps initiating cell phone breaks over the next few weeks will help to prepare them for the first day back.

Welcome to Newtown Middle School for the 2024-2025 school year!
I would like to take this opportunity to review basic health policies and screening schedules.
New students are required to provide immunization records in accordance with PA Health Department standards. Please confirm with your child’s medical provider that their immunizations or exclusions are up to date and on file in the nurse’s office at NMS in order to start their first day of school.
