Returning Student Registration Now Open
On April 3, all families should have received an email from District 45 outlining the steps for registering their child(ren) for the 2024-25 school year. If you have multiple children in the district, you received a separate email for each child. If you did not receive the email, please reach out to your child's school office to confirm that the correct contact information is in our system. You may also want to check your junk/spam folders, as the email may have been routed to those locations. If you know that your child will not be returning to their school next year, please reach out to the office to let them know. In doing so, you will assist with planning for student needs for the coming school year. Jackson's main office number is (630) 516-7600.

Free Mental Health Services for D45 Families
District 45 has launched an innovative mental health initiative to provide and improve access to quality mental health services in our community. This new free program, called CARES (Community, Advocacy, Resilience, Engagement and Support), connects families to local mental health providers based on their specific needs and will help schedule appointments. CARES makes it easy for families to find help and support without trying to do it on their own.
Treatment providers are independent licensed clinicians. Services are available at nearby clinician offices or virtually (telehealth) and are 100% confidential. District students and families may receive up to eight (8) FREE sessions of counseling services. CARES is available to uninsured or underinsured families and accepts all private and public insurance options, including PPO, HMO and Medicaid. CARES is made possible through funding from the Illinois Department of Public Health in partnership with the DuPage Regional Office of Education and Referral GPS. For more information or to access mental health services, visit the District 45 CARES page and complete the “Treatment Request” to get started.

PowerSchool Parent Portal
PowerSchool is a proactive communication tool parents/guardians can use to stay informed about their child’s academic and work habits progress in school. Please click on this PowerSchool Parent/Guardian Quick Guide link for more information about how to navigate the PowerSchool portal. There is a mobile app version of the PowerSchool Portal for families. The interface of the mobile app is slightly different from the web version. If you experience any difficulties accessing PowerSchool, please email Mrs. Aparicio, the Jackson secretary who oversees PowerSchool. Her email address is vaparicio@d45.org.
Attendance
A friendly reminder that it is the responsibility of a parent/guardian to contact Jackson in the event his/her child will be absent from school. Please plan to report your child’s absence, prior to 9:00 a.m., by calling our attendance line at (630) 516-7368. Parents/guardians will leave a voicemail reporting their child’s absence. In the voicemail, please include the following information:
Child’s name and grade level
Date of absence
Reason for absence
Student absenteeism should be kept to the minimum; however, the School Board recognizes that some absences are unavoidable. The following are valid causes for a student's absence and will be considered “excused,” as specified in Section 26-2a of the Illinois School Code:
Illness
Observation of a religious holiday
Death in the immediate family
Family emergency
Other situations approved by the school principal
