Sheep Hill Observatory Trip
On Wednesday March 12,2025 the Sheep Hill Astronomical Association opened their observatory to PRM students and families. The 18 inch (wide) Newtonian Reflecting Telescope is located high up on the hill in Boonton and the surrounding trees help to block most of the ambient light from the towns below. The club members operating the telescope focused on several objects including Sirius, Jupiter, the Moon, Mars, Betelgeuse, and several star clusters. We were also treated to a flyby of the international space station. The event was organized by PRM Science Teacher Mr. Huppert. You can see photos from the trip here.
