Reading/Social Studies - This week we read short biographies of people who have done something important to help Anchorage or Alaska. The people covered ranged from Bob Bartlett and Benny Benson to Moa Tosi and Kikkan Randall. As we read about them we discussed what they did for the “common good”. Thursday we read clues that described each person and used the text to help us figure out who they were describing.
Writing - Our outlines are done and we are starting our rough drafts. This is a long process but they are working very hard to research their dinosaur and write their reports.
Math - We finished up our unit on measuring in inches and feet today with our Unit Test. Next week we will be doing some review of two-digit addition/subtraction and place value to help us get ready for our next unit - Addition and Subtraction with 3-digit numbers.
