A MESSAGE FROM MRS. GRAHAM
August 12, 2024
I hope this message finds you well. I am thrilled to report that our first week of the school year was a great success! The students have settled in wonderfully, and we're excited to carry this momentum into our second week.
As we move forward, I want to remind everyone about our drop-off and pick-up procedures to ensure the safety and efficiency of our campus traffic. The front parking lot of the Main campus is not designated for drop-offs or pick-ups. Please use Blue Devil Blvd for both morning drop-offs and afternoon pick-ups. Additionally, the front parking lot at the Magnolia campus is closed in the afternoons. All students at this location should also be picked up on Blue Devil Blvd.
Thank you for your cooperation in keeping our students safe and our campus running smoothly. We are looking forward to another fantastic week at MHS!

PowerSchool Registration has been opened as of July 23rd. All MGSD families must complete their students' PowerSchool Registration before school begins next week on August 7th. This is where families verify all their demographic information and update any pertinent information, sign off on various policies (i.e. Technology Responsible Use, Student Code of Conduct, etc., and get links to things like paying the Tech Usage Fee, the Free and Reduced Application, etc.).
Check your email for a code from Registration@mgsd.k12.nc.us -- that "snap code" will be emailed to the parent/guardian email on file that they must have in order to complete registration. If parents do not get the email that is expected, please notify Ms. Harmon, MHS data manager, as soon as possible. Thank you!
Free & Reduced Lunch Application
The Free and Reduced Lunch Application for the 24-25 school year is now available. Submit the application today. The application is one hundred percent confidential, and many of our families unexpectedly qualify. Application Link
Laptops & Technology Fees:
Parents and students new to MHS: your child is scheduled to receive their district issued laptop starting on August 7th. This link will help answer any questions you may have, MGSD Refresh 2024 website.
ALL parents of MGSD students: As a reminder, all students in grades 3-12 owe the $20 Technology Usage Fee. Information on how to pay the fee is being sent out along with PowerSchool Registration. Reminders will be sent with district communications again before school starts.
Message from PTSO
We are excited to be starting a new year with MHS and look forward to supporting our students and staff! Our MGSD families have always been so supportive of PTSO and we appreciate it very much as we can't do what we do without you!!
Thank you to all the parents who donated and volunteered as we welcomed our staff back to "The Grind" with breakfast on Monday, August 5th. If you missed the news on that, don't worry we have many opportunities to donate and volunteer during the year!
Click HERE for all the current donation opportunities including a monetary donation we are collecting to purchase our teachers some much-needed supplies. You can also access our rock rental form here as well!

Finally, our next PTSO meeting is August 26th in Magnolia. We hope to see you all there!
AM Drop Off & PM Pick Up
Morning drop off starts at 7am. Please do not let your student out of the car prior to 7:00am. If you must drop your student off prior to 7:00am please consider riding the bus.
Parents, pull all the way to the top of the line and follow the directions of the staff members helping.
To help with traffic at school this year, we have provided you with a map for drop off/pickup. Please be patient with all drivers on the first day and we can't wait to see you.

Each May, we host a Senior Field Day Event for graduating students. Help us support this awesome event for our students. A generous portion of all sales from the link below will directly support the event. This E3 fundraiser will run until November 13, 2024.
