Constructing Meaning Institutes

Day 5:Thursday, 5/23 or Tuesday, 6/11

This option is limited to 28 teachers.

Please note: If you opt to attend Day 5 on June 11, you will be paid on a timesheet.

What is Constructing Meaning?

Constructing Meaning provides teachers with the process and tools for weaving explicit language instruction into content-area teaching. Lesson planning is driven by the content and academic language demands of discipline-specific learning. Feedback from SUHSD teachers has been resoundingly positive. This is what we've heard:

Is Constructing Meaning the same as EL Achieve? What's the difference between Constructing Meaning and Integrated ELD?

EL Achieve is the organization that created a professional development and leadership training that they call Constructing Meaning. It focuses on Integrated ELD strategies for all content area teachers.
