deLacey Update
January 13, 2025
School News
Returning to school means we will be reminding our students of our school expectations and also working on keeping track of our belongings. With the colder weather, there are more items of clothing for our students to keep track of. We work hard on having each student put their items in their cubbies or in their backpacks, but there are times that students misplace them. We request families label all student clothing so we can return items quickly if this happens. If your student is missing an item, please contact their teacher to check the deLacey lost and found.
As a reminder, we will begin Erin's Law next week with our classrooms. For more information on Erin's Law, please click here. If you have any questions or concerns please reach out to the deLacey administration.

Bussing
As we work together to ensure a smooth and successful school year, we want to remind families of the importance of being ready for the bus each morning and being available for after school pickup.
To keep our transportation schedule running smoothly and ensure all children arrive at school safely and on time, it is essential that your child is fully dressed and prepared to board the bus five minutes before the scheduled pickup time.
If you have any questions or concerns about your child’s bus schedule or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out to the deLacey Family Education Center at 224-484-2300. We’re here to help!
Thank you for your cooperation and for helping us provide the best possible start and end to each day for your child.
Nurse's Corner
Brrr….it’s cold and flu season! We have seen an increase in respiratory and gastrointestinal illnesses since December. Please keep your child home if they have new respiratory symptoms, diarrhea, nausea/ vomiting, low energy, or are just not acting like themselves before school. Return to school guidelines state that children should have either resolution or significant improvement of their symptoms before returning to school. Even “just a cold” can be easily transmitted to our teachers and friends and cause them extended absences. Let’s keep our school healthy together!
Does anyone have any donations??
We need pants sizes 2-6 for boys and girls who have accidents at school. If anyone has pants in this size range that they are looking to donate, the school health office will happily take them. Thank you!
If you believe your child has lost and item, please reach out to your child's teacher. Thank you.
