SPRING BREAK - 3/17-3/21 - There will be no school for students the week of March 17th, as we will be on Spring Break. No School - March 17th - March 21st. Classes resume Monday March 24th.
4 Year Old Pre-K Photos - 3/24 - Halverson Photography will be here on Monday, 3/24 to take graduation photos of our 4 year old preschoolers.
K-2 Concert Performance - 3/6 @ 6:00 -K-2 students will be having a concert at the HS auditorium at 7 pm on Thursday March 6th.

CURRENT ATTENDANCE RATE

Currently, Stewart Elementary is at a 15% chronic absenteeism rate. With recent spikes in illnesses, we've seen quite a bit more student absences and an increase in students being sent home sick. The winter months are always tricky with staff and student sickness. Please continue to communicate with Stewart when your child is absent and, if you have them, turn in your doctor's notes. Thank you parents for making sure your students are getting to school!

STUDENT ILLNESS

If your child is not feeling well, please use the guidelines below to help determine if your student is able to attend school or not. If your child is not well enough to attend school, please be sure to contact the school to inform us of their absence.

REMINDERS

END OF DAY / DISMISSAL CHANGES

If there will be a change in your students after school plans, please notify the office by 2pm Monday-Thursday and noon on Friday if possible. When there are changes, there are several things to communicate to ensure students get where they are supposed to go. Please allow us time to make these changes by notifying us as early as possible.

NEGATIVE LUNCH BALANCE NOTICES

Just a little reminder about the Negative Lunch Balance Notices your child may receive, students with siblings at other schools are all linked together - so a charge might be from a different school. If your student/family are on Free/Reduced and your student wishes to get an extra milk, al a cart item, or brings a cold lunch and needs a milk, those items are not included in the Free/Reduced program so you will be responsible for those charges. If you have any questions or need more information about this please feel free to contact the office and we would be happy to discuss this further with you.

ROSTER CONSIDERATION FORMS

If you have any considerations you would like our staff to factor in as we assemble classroom rosters for the 2025-2026 school year, please be sure to submit your roster consideration form by Tuesday April 1st. Parents may obtain a roster consideration form from the Stewart office or may call Stewart and request that a form is sent home with your child.

Any submissions after April 1st will not be reviewed. Come April 1st, our staff will be building rosters over the last two months of the school year with the information obtained from those forms prior to the beginning of April. To the best of our ability, we will be careful to place students with classmates that benefit each child both socially and academically.

WINTER WEATHER

Be sure to dress appropriately! As temperatures continue to shift, please be sure your child brings that appropriate clothing with them to school. Students will continue to go outside unless the Real Feel temperature is below 10º. Stewart Elementary uses the following guidelines to confront the winter weather.
