Greetings Giants,
We hope everyone is having a fun and safe summer break! We are busy planning and getting things ready for the new year. We are all so eager to be back together!
This edition of Highlights has a ton of important information for the start of the school year- please be sure to read thoroughly!
TELL YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS! Do you know anyone looking for a QUALITY, CATHOLIC, & AFFORDABLE education for their child? We have openings in many of our classes and would love to add more Giants to our school and parish family. Have anyone that is interested call the school office to schedule a tour!

REMINDER- The summer office hours are Tuesday-Thursday, 8:00-11:00. Beginning the week of July 29, we will resume regular office hours of Monday-Friday, 8:00-3:30.
Mark Your Calendars:
Wednesday, July 31- New Family Meeting- 6:30-7:30pm in the cafeteria. This is an informational meeting for families that are new to Holy Name.
Sunday, August 4- Back to School Event- Stop in during your allotted time frame below and meet your teachers! You can bring supplies to classrooms and pick up information from your teachers.

Miss Hannah Smith...
Miss Smith will be moving from 4th grade to 2nd grade! She will be staying in her current classroom because our 2nd graders are all moving upstairs this year!
Mrs. Angie Weliever...
Mrs. Weliever will be moving to the special area team and teaching STEM and library this year! She has some very exciting things planned for our Giants!
Welcome Back, Mrs. Liz Blazekovich...
Mrs. Blaze is back in 2nd grade! We are so happy to have her back with our school family! You will find her new classroom upstairs in room 16 with our incredible intermediate team!
Welcome Back, Mrs. Cheri Volpp...
We are so excited to have Mrs. Volpp back in the building full-time this year! She will be working with Mrs. Taylor in our PreK 4 classroom. What an amazing team!
Kindergarten Teacher...Miss Shelby Ennis
Hi! I'm Miss Ennis, and I'll be joining the Holy Name family at the start of the 2024-2025 school year! I have been teaching Kindergarten for the last five years. I completed my undergraduate at the University of Indianapolis. After that, I earned my Master's degree in Teacher Leadership from Walden University. This past summer I also completed my EdS degree in Administration Leadership with Walden University. When I'm not teaching, I love reading and being with my family. I am looking forward to teaching Kindergarten at Holy Name!
Fifth Grade Teacher...Mrs. Megan Bowling
Hi, my name is Megan Bowling, and I am excited to be teaching 5th grade in the fall at Holy Name Catholic School. When I am not in the classroom, you can find me coaching volleyball and softball or floating at the lake. My goal as a teacher is to inspire and empower my students to become creative individuals and lifelong learners.
Fifth Grade Teacher...Mrs. Amy Richards
Hello, my name is Amy Richards. I will be teaching fifth grade at Holy Name. I am originally from the Southside of Indianapolis. I attended St. Jude Catholic School and Roncalli High School.
I received my Bachelor's Degree in Liberal Studies from the University of Indianapolis and I received my Masters in Elementary Education from IUPUI. I have many years of experience working with fourth and fifth graders in Franklin Township. This will be my third year in the classroom. I have always known I wanted to be a teacher from a young age. I am excited to become part of the Holy Name School community and family! I am so excited to be your child's teacher this year and I am looking forward to all the fun things we will learn together. I have been happily married to my husband Scott for fifteen years and we have two daughters. My oldest daughter is twelve and is going into the sixth grade and my youngest is 10.5 and going into fifth grade. I love reading, scrapbooking, and spending time with my family. I look forward to this new school year and thank you for sharing your children with me!

Keep an eye out during the next couple weeks for reminders about the start of school. Middle school students (grades 6-8) may pick up schedules and locker information beginning Wednesday, July 31.
Don't forget the back-to-school forms that need to be completed! These were sent by email earlier this week. There are several items that need your attention; please contact us with any questions. Here's how you can turn those items in:
1. Bring these during office hours.
2. Complete and send them via email to Mrs. Beeson (jbeeson@holyname.cc).
3. Bring them with you on Back-to-School day (Sunday, August 4).
UNIFORMS: All students must wear navy or khaki pants, shorts, jumpers, or skirts and plain navy or white polo shirts. These can be purchased at all major stores (Target, Meijer, Walmart, Old Navy, etc)
Middle school students have the option to purchase Sport-Tek performance polos (6th&7th grade- navy/white; 8th grade- gold/white). That information can be found in the back-to-school forms that were sent this week or our spiritwear link here- https://school.holyname.cc/spiritwear

SUPPLY LISTS: Many of you have already purchased your supplies through 1st Day School Supplies, and those will be delivered directly to the school. If you need a supply list for shopping on your own, those can be found here- https://school.holyname.cc/supply-lists
**NOTE-
KINDERGARTEN- There is a $15 fee for each kindergarten student to pay for a yearly subscription to Happy Numbers and Letters. This can be paid in the school office.
7TH & 8TH GRADE- There are a few novels that your student will need for this year in ELA. Those can be found on the supply lists linked above.
We are so excited to see our Giant family in just a few weeks! This school year is sure to be full of exciting new learning and growing as we celebrate another incredible year of knowing, loving, and serving God.
