A LOOK AT WHAT IS GOING ON AT MART I.S.D.
October 21, 2024
District News:
Internet Safety for Parents
Mark your calendars for next Wednesday, October 23rd. Sgt. Douglas with Mart Police Department will be providing a parent presentation at 6pm in the high school gym. This presentation is appropriate for parents of all ages of students. He will give accounts of actual cases and situations that he has experienced while working in Mart. The more we know as parents, the better we can protect our students from these threats. Due to the nature of some of the content, students are not allowed. If you need childcare, please contact Betsy Burnett at betsy.burnett@mymartisd.org and the district will make arrangements.
Put the I in KIND!
During October, Mart Elementary has been learning about the importance of standing up to bullying and how to report it. Students have been focusing on random acts of kindness and learning what "Panthers Put the I In Kindness" means.
Communities in Schools
This week, CIS was able to give out 12 weekend food bags to students who might need additional support over the weekend. The Mart community is amazing! Thank you so much for your continued support.
LED Lighting Replacement
Bowen Electric is nearly complete replacing all fixtures at the elementary campus with updated LED lighting. This came in especially handy during the power outages this week. The updated classrooms had emergency lighting that remains on even without power. This upgrade is due to a lighting grant the district received from SECO.
Privacy Film Upgrades
The elementary has installed privacy film on the main entrance to enhance campus security. This film will be installed on the high school campus in the coming weeks.
