Blue Books That I Have Been Meaning To Read #1
I enjoyed this book it was a misfit group of high school kids who are supposed to be working on their problems with an art therapist, but the projects are not helping. Everyone in the group is grieving something and most of them are not doing very well. My favorite of the group members was Ivan he is an interesting character. Trust me his moment is worth his immaturity. I recommend this book for people who are looking for a book about misfit groups of friends, healing from mistakes, like a dark comedy, or cats.
Blue Books That I Have Been Meaning To Read #2
To avoid the Young Offenders unit, Ben is ordered to give something back to the community and develop his sense of social alignment. Take up a hobby and keep on the straight and narrow. The hot teacher he likes runs a knitting group so Ben, reluctantly at first, gets 'stuck in'. Not easy when your dad is a sports fan and thinks Jeremy Clarkson is God. To his surprise, Ben finds that he likes knitting and that he has a mean competitive streak. If he can just keep it all a secret from his mates...and notice that the girl of his dreams, girl-next-door Megan Hooper has a bit of a thing for him... Summary from Goodreads.
As a knitter, I found this book amusing. Poor, poor Ben. The book is definitely from a teenage boy point of view. He just wants to keep his friends out of trouble, but they just won't listen. There has never been a knitting competition quite like the one Ben enters. I would recommend this book to someone who is okay with teenage boy humor, knitting, strange family dynamics, and a working knowledge of all things British.
