Centennial Family Newsletter
September 2024
Principal's Message
Dear Families,
We are excited to announce that Centennial has a new Mission and Vision. Our mission and vision
were developed with student, staff, and family voices during the 2023-24 school year.
Centennial's mission is our commitment to what we as a community promise to do everyday. Our mission states:
We are a community focused on a culture of improvement and belonging. We engage all students in rigorous opportunities to elevate their voice and provide authentic experiences to transfer their learning.
Centennial's vision is what we hope to achieve as a school. Our vision states:
Inspiring a community of diverse minds to thrive as independent learners.
Each month I will share information about the steps we are taking to live out our mission. And...if you want to hear more about what we are doing and share your thoughts, please join us at Coffee and Conversations on Friday, September 6 at 8:30 a.m.. Breakfast burritos and coffee will be served.
Grateful,
Geneanne Payne
Friendly Reminders
Pets on School Property
In an effort to keep our school feeling safe for all students and families and in accordance with District Policy, only service animals and therapy dogs are permitted on school property. District Policy requires prior authorization from the principal to have a therapy dog on school property. We ask that all other pets remain off school grounds during school hours.

Parents' Title 1 Right to Know Information
As a parent of a student at Centennial, you have the right to know the professional qualifications of the classroom teacher who instructs your child. This is a requirement for all districts that receive Title I funds. Federal law allows you to request certain information about your student’s classroom teacher. The law also requires the district to give you this information in a timely manner upon request. Listed below is the information in which you have the right to ask for regarding each of your student’s classroom teachers.
Whether the Colorado Department of Education has licensed or endorsed your student’s teacher for the grades and subjects taught.
Whether CDE has decided that your student’s teacher can teach in a classroom without being licensed or qualified under state regulations because of special circumstances.
The teacher’s college major; whether the teacher has any advanced degrees, and, if so, the subject of the degrees.
Whether any teachers’ aides or similar paraeducators provide services to your child and, if they do, their qualifications.
Please contact Tim Griffin in the Adams 12 Human Resources Office at 720-972-4082 or tim.griffin@adams12.org if you would like to receive any of this information.
Safety
Share your safety concerns and ideas to improve transportation safety, especially around Broomfield schools at https://www.broomfieldvoice.com/btsap. Your input, combined with safety and collision data, will be used to create the Broomfield Transportation Safety Action Plan (BTSAP). The BTSAP will identify ways to improve safety on Broomfield’s multimodal transportation network and include both action steps and recommendations that aim to reduce crashes and serious injuries when traveling in Broomfield. The survey and map close on October 1st.
