HAPPY SCHOOL DAYS
Welcome to Emmy W, Deacon S and Connor D and their families to Toko School and Room 1.
BOARD UPDATE
The Friends of Toko School (FOTS) have donated $15000.00 to the school. This money has contributed towards the cost of the covered deck outside Room 5.
The donation from the FOTS is made possible due to the many events that they co-ordinate and that our families volunteer to help with. These include: trail bike ride, pig hunt, calf and lamb day, school lunches and the many school events that they cater for. Thank you so much to everyone that has volunteered throughout the year.
Policy Review
The Finance and Asset Management Policy are being reviewed in Term 4. This can be found on our website. Please click current review to read through and provide feedback.
School Accounts
With the end of the year coming up really fast we require all accounts to be settled by the end of November. If you are unable to do so, please call Mrs Waite. If you have problems with Hero and viewing your accounts, or if something is not right please call Annette in the office. We can print out statements if you require one.
BYOD
Thank you to those parents who were able to make the meeting the other week. It is a busy time of year. ( For those parents that couldn't make it,) here is a link to the slideshow that was shared. If you have any questions about BYOD you can either see Mrs Hancock or your child's classroom teacher.
SPORTS UPDATE
Taranaki Intermediate Athletics Champs
On Thursday 21st November we have a number of Y7 & 8 students attending the Taranaki Intermediate Athletics at the TET in Inglewood. A notice will be sent home tonight to all children involved.
Central Athletics Results
These will be in the next newsletter as we are still waiting on the official results sheet.
KUPU - WORDS
Each fortnight we will be sharing some kupu that we are using in our classrooms. You may want to learn along as well. We will provide the word, how to pronounce it and how to say it in a sentence.
Hangi
On Thursday 5th December we are planning to have a hangi here at school as a part of our end of year celebrations. We are currently busy behind the scenes trying to organise this. At this stage we are in need of a few more hangi baskets, so if you know of anyone that could help us out with this that would be great. We will be asking students to contribute to this by bringing vegetables etc to school and then helping with the preparation of the food and hangi pit. We will be in touch at a later date with what students will be required to contribute once we confirm catering numbers etc
ENVIRO
Sustainable Backyards Trail
We participated in the Sustainable Backyards Trail this year. The enviro leaders and senior students did a great job of welcoming visitors to our school and taking tours, sharing our enviro journey and sustainability in action projects.
