Dear Students and Families,
Please visit this newsletter as often as you would like for updates on our School Counseling programs as well as all kinds of resources to share with the family!
Care tips for the summer!
2. Get outside! If possible get outside and soak up the sun!
3. Get active! Spend at least 60 minutes a day doing physical activity. (walks, bike rides, trampoline)
3. Eat a healthy/balanced diet.
4. Maintain a bedtime and daily routine.
5. Make sure that you are sleeping at least 8 hours a night.
Remember that fun does not have to cost money! Just spending time together; playing games, going for a walk, doing some planting, making a meal, ect...

Managing Anger
Remember that it's OK to be angry
We need to help our kids understand and expect that they will experience a variety of feelings as they go through life, including anger. It’s normal to feel angry at times. It’s what you do with those feelings that matter.

Quick Ways to Help Kids Express Their Anger
Pop bubble wrap
Rip Paper
Squish playdough
Wrap your arms around yourself and squeeze
Write a letter to someone
Jump on a trampoline
Do wall push-ups
Write down what’s bothering you and rip it up
Squeeze a stress ball
Talk about it
Scribble on paper and crumple it up
Do jumping jacks
Put the palms of your hands together, push and release
Do stretches

Consultation: With both staff and parents/ guardians to plan for student’s needs.
Community Resource Referrals: resources for outside services for children experiencing grief, divorce, family separation, deployment, or mental health concerns.

Courtney can offer:
- Therapeutic Counseling Services for students during the school day.
- Family Consultation/Support
- Therapeutic Counseling Services to sibling groups that attend Dena'ina.
