Principal's Message
Dear Mari-Linn Families,
The 2024-2025 school year is off to a fantastic start! Our students have hit the ground running, diving into their learning with enthusiasm and curiosity. It's been amazing to witness our students embracing the "Hornet Way" by demonstrating safety, respect, and responsibility in their daily interactions. We're excited to celebrate students who have exemplified these character traits at our Character Trait Assembly this Friday at 1:45 PM.
Important Information:
As a reminder, meals are free to all NSSD students this year. If students would like to purchase seconds, parents can add money to their accounts. Juice is not free with meals. If you student plans to have juice they will need to have money in their accounts.
All students have reviewed and signed a technology user agreement form this year. Middle school students have also reviewed and signed the middle school code of conduct. Both of these forms are attached for your reference.
School Spirit Gear: Please be on the look out for a link to purchase Hornet gear from Stayton sports!
For Your Awareness: Lockdown Drills
For the safety of our students and staff, we will be conducting our first lockdown drill next week. We follow the I Love U Guys protocol, which emphasizes clear communication and practices. You can learn more about this protocol here: https://iloveuguys.org/The-Standard-Response-Protocol.html
We understand that lockdown drills can be unsettling, but we assure you that they are an essential part of our safety plan. We will conduct them in a way that minimizes disruption to the learning environment.
We look forward to another amazing year of learning and growth together!
As always, feel free to reach out!

Need to Know Info!
Arrival / End of the Day Dismissal: If you plan to walk you student in to the buidling please plan to park and walk in versus stopping in the drop off line. If you have any pick-up or end-of-the-day dismissal changes, please reach out to the office before 2:00 PM to ensure a smooth transition for students and staff.
Assemblies: We LOVE having parents and families attend our assemblies. Like last year, all classrooms will have an assigned space in the bleachers. Parents and guests will also have a designated area at the end of the bleachers. In order to allow for all classrooms to fit, we are asking that parents sit in the designated "guests" section. Thank you for understanding!
