Dr. Patterson's Weekly Update
Eagle Pride: Video by Dr. Patterson
October 12, 2019
Happy Saturday Eagles!
Thank you to all of our families who attended the Open House and Report Card Pick-up on Thursday, October 10. We had an excellent turnout, and it was great to see everyone. Our picture make-up day is Tuesday, October 15. If your child missed our original picture day or you want your child to retake pictures, please plan for the picture make-up day on Tuesday. Students must wear uniforms for fall pictures.
Little Caesars Fundraiser
Thank you to all families participating in our Little Caesars fundraiser! We have been selling some pizza kits online, and we earn $6 for every kit. All orders and money are due on Thursday, October 17. Please be sure to have all orders in on time so they can be included in our school order. Reminder to our students: If you sell one kit, you receive a dress-down pass for a day. If you sell five kits, you are able to participate in duct-taping staff members to the wall, including Dr. Patterson!
Clyde Erwin Button Project
We have an awesome project beginning on Monday, October 21 called the Clyde Erwin Button Project. Flyers were sent home on Friday about this project, and we are excited to begin soon. Each month, this project will focus on one of our IB Attitudes. The first IB Attitude of focus is Cooperation. Students are able to purchase a blank circle for $0.25 to create and submit a design that represents Cooperation. A group of judges will choose one design as the winner for that month, and buttons will be created to sell with the winning design. The student designer will receive a free button. The buttons will be sold for $1.00, and proceeds will always benefit our students. The proceeds from our October sales will benefit our Academic Derby Team for 2019-2020. This project is completely student-led.
Storybook Character Dress-Up Day
We have our annual Storybook Character Dress-Up Day on October 31, 2019. As you are preparing for this fun day, we just want to remind parents that there should be no scary costumes. The cost for Storybook Character Dress-Up Day is $2.00, and all proceeds benefit extracurricular clubs at Clyde Erwin.
Make-up Days
We have one additional make-up day due to time missed during Hurricane Dorian. Students will also attend school on Friday, January 3, 2020, which was a teacher workday and is now a student day. Please make adjustments to your calendars.
Free and Reduced Meals
If you are interested in applying for free and reduced meals for the 2019-2020 school year, please get the application submitted ASAP.
