We are excited to announce that after a year of planning, construction will soon begin on the renovation and expansion of Comanche High School. The school board has chosen Teinert Construction as the general contractor to complete the project. Teinert has been in business since 1982 and has offices in Lubbock and Abilene. CISD has worked with Teinert in the past on the construction of the new parking lot at Jefferies Junior High School and the installation of the awning at Comanche Elementary.
We expect the project to get started as soon as school breaks for summer vacation. The new high school is scheduled to welcome students for classes during the 2026-2027 school year; the entire project is slated to be completed a few months later as the final phase will include demolition of parts of the old building that will no longer be in use.
