Good Evening K9s!
What a whirlwind of a week with just four school days! Despite the short week, we were able to pack in some exciting activities. We welcomed a special guest from the Plainfield Public Library, who spent time connecting with our students and sharing a love of reading. We also celebrated three amazing students from our PoP fundraiser, honored student birthdays by giving them the joy of selecting a free book, and recognized our Principal Award Winners for their outstanding achievements.
I want to take a moment to thank the organizations that have generously contributed to our Birthday Book Celebration. Thanks to their support, every student gets to receive a free book on their birthday! A big thank you to:
- Kiwanis - Plainfield Chapter
- Chamber of Commerce - Plainfield/Shorewood Area
- Scholastic Bookfair '24 Dollars
Your contributions have made a big difference for our students!
As a friendly reminder, when picking up students, please be sure to turn off your car while waiting in line. Running vehicles not only pose a safety concern for students and staff walking nearby, but the fumes can also affect the air quality for everyone.
Thank you for your support, and we hope you have a relaxing and enjoyable weekend ahead!

Lock Down Drill Information - Thursday, September 12th
At Wallin Oaks, the safety and well-being of our students and staff are our top priority. As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe learning environment, we will conduct a lockdown drill on Thursday, September 12th during school hours.
This drill is to practice our procedures in the unlikely event of an emergency that would require us to secure the building. During the drill, students and staff will be guided through the process of locking down classrooms and designated safe areas. Teachers will provide age-appropriate guidance to ensure that students understand the importance of the drill and feel comfortable and confident during it.
Please note that this is only a practice drill and there is no actual threat to the school. We encourage you to discuss the drill with your child and remind them that these exercises are an important part of keeping everyone safe.
If you have any questions or concerns about the lockdown drill, please do not hesitate to contact the school office. Additionally, the lockdown exempt form can be found below. Please complete and return to school on Monday if you would like your child to opt out of participating.
Thank you for your continued support in making Wallin Oaks a safe place for our students to learn and grow.
