KAKISA LAKE SCHOOL NEWSLETTER

WEEK IN REVIEW
Last week we had two additions to our regular school program. Our new counsellor was town supporting learning by engaging students in art therapy once a day. Peyton learned how to carve and all the students learned how to use watercolour to paint. On Friday, Ecology North came to celebrate the selection of Peyton's drawing for their water bottles. They made pizza with us and later we had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate Chloe's birthday with Ecology North and Elder Leon at school!
All in all it was another eventful week. Our after school program is running well. Thank you to Sadie, Nyah, Terry and Julien for providing fun learning opportunities at school and on the land after school.
This Week....
This week will be another busy week! Peyton, Presley and I will be attending the Mental Health Conference in Fort Simpson from Monday to Friday. The bus will be picking us up at 11 AM on Monday. Parents have been sent the suggested packing list for this major event.
Nyah and Margret will help support learning during this week for the four remaining students. I've designed engaging lessons for the students so I am sure they will have a great week at school!
The after school program will run like normal from Monday to Friday from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Monday and Tuesday, Sadie will be on campus to support the program. Students will be making tacos and cake on Tuesday for the cooking class. On Wednesday, Nyah will support the program and Terry will support the program on Thursday and Friday.
Peyton, Presley and I will come back to Kakisa before the end of the day on Friday. I will be in regular contact with the parents and let them know as soon as I know our departure time from Simpson.
