®️March SEL Trait - Coping Skills®️
Good afternoon Riverton families!
March is Women's History Month. Women's History Month is a celebration of resilience, determination, and the extraordinary contributions women have made throughout time. From trailblazers to quiet revolutionaries, women have shaped our society, fought for equality, and driven progress. This month, we honor their stories, recognize their achievements, and celebrate the power that lies within every woman and girl.
In the spirit of Women's History Month I would like to spotlight Ms. Jessica Thoennes. Ms. Thoennes visited Riverton School last week to tell our 5th grade about her journey to become a representative of the United States of America as an olymipic rower. Ms. Thoennes participated in both the 2020 (Tokoyo) and 2024 (Paris) Olympics but her story included experiences of rejection, struggle and the commited perseverance that led to her great successes. Our 5th grade students had an opportunity to ask many questions and learn from Ms. Thoennes. A quick shout out to Ms. Caione and Ms. Bange for coordinating such a powerful event for our students!
With gratitude,
Mr. Zagorski
