PRINCIPAL'S WEEKLY MESSAGE
Happy Friday Ridgeview families! Here are your weekly updates.
Culture Day was another awesome event! Thank you to all the families that came out on the evening of March 10th to see our performers. The students did a phenomenal job with their booths and performances. Thank you to Beth Hoffman and Kris Owen for the organization of the event. Thank you to all staff and students behind the scenes making sure things went smoothly. Lastly, a huge thank you to our Ridgeview students and staff for a job well done!
As we creep closer to the last quarter of this school year (unbelievable how fast the year is moving), continue to press upon your student about two things: Academics and Safety. This is the biggest stretch of the year. Students have had a tendency to get lax in the classroom. We need students to be as connected with teachers as they are with students and push through, even when itâs difficult, as this is the last push before the state test. This should be a stepping stone into high school for our 8th graders as well. Behaviors, whether in the classroom or other areas in the building, do have an affect on the overall building culture/safety. As we want to see smiling faces every day, we will also do whatâs needed to ensure the overall safety of our building community (even if we have to send students home).
Thereâs been some confusion about our next Lunch With A Loved One Event. The next and last one for the school year is Tue March 25th. Click here to sign up for the event. If you have any questions, please contact our secretary Tiffany Dalton through the main office.
Families are reminded of our building after school detention policy. Students are given a week from the day the detention is issued, to serve the detention. If the student does not serve within one week, a one day out of school suspension (OSS) will be assigned. This is aligned with the district Student Code of Conduct. Please be advised it doesnât matter what day the detention is served, as long as itâs done within one week. After school detentions are held on Tue and Thur each week, unless otherwise noted. If parents have questions about our policy, please touch base with your grade level administrator.
The weather is beginning to change a little bit and already we are seeing a change in our dress code. However, our dress code hasnât changed at all. Parents/guardians please make sure your students dress appropriately for school. Slides are still not appropriate. They must have a closed toe shoe. Half shirts are not appropriate. Stomachs, shoulders must always be covered. Shorts should cover all necessary areas of the body. They should be at least mid-thigh length. Students who come to school out of dress code have the option of wearing something from our care closet or making a phone call home.
Lastly, new t-shirts are now available to order, as well as previous items. Samples will be available for view at our next Lunch With A Loved One Event on the 25th. If you have questions, again contact Tiffany Dalton.
Take care everyone and weâll see you again next week! GO TIGERS!

Early Dismissal Information
District Policy states that only guardians listed on Infinite Campus are permitted to pick up their student. If your student needs to be picked up early by someone who is NOT their guardian, a guardian must call the office to let us know who will be picking up their child. The other adult must present a valid ID to office staff for the student to be released to them.
Personal Communication Devices:
Pick-up times for Personal Communication Devices will be Mon - Fri in the main office from 8:00 am - 1:45 pm and again from 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm as long as school is in session. The main office closes at 3:00 pm daily.
Weâre collecting more devices daily. If your student has a device confiscated and it doesnât belong to them, the person that it belongs to AS WELL AS the student who had it taken from will be added to our spreadsheet for a confiscated device. Please make a note of this.

HELP Make Our Schools Safer
The Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Public Safety have launched the SaferOH tip line that will accept both calls and texts 24 hours a day.
This tip line allows students and adults to anonymously share information with school officials and law enforcement about threats to student safetyâwhether that involves a threatened mass incident or harm to a single student.
Every tip can remain anonymous. School safety analysts may ask for additional information, but the caller can remain secret or leave his or her contact information for later follow-up.
Calls or texts to 844-SaferOH (844-723-3764) are answered by analysts in the Ohio Homeland Securityâs Threat Assessment and Prevention (TAP) Unit. When action is needed, the TAP Unit immediately forwards information to Pickerington Schools, local law enforcement agencies, and others, if necessary.
