Brookside Elementary School
Exciting Science & Holiday Fun at Brookside!
Our Brookside students love science! They’ve been exploring new concepts through hands-on experiments and problem-solving.
- After learning about the water cycle, our 5th graders conducted an experiment to filter dirty water.
- In 2nd grade, students imagined they were stranded on a desert island and had to figure out how to cook an egg—and more importantly, how to get it off the pan!
Before the holiday break, students also enjoyed a wonderful performance by the Dracut High School Carolers, spreading festive cheer throughout our school!
Campbell Elementary School
As we settle into 2025, I want to take a moment to reflect on the wonderful events that brought our school community together in December.
From classroom celebrations to special projects, the holiday spirit was alive and well, thanks in large part to our dedicated volunteers. A special highlight was our annual Holiday Concert, featuring our talented first-grade students and the All-School Chorus, followed by a heartwarming assembly where our entire school joined in singing holiday songs together. A huge thank you to our Grade 1 team and Ms. Jill Bamford, our incredible music teacher, for making these events so special.
As we move forward, we remain committed to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment for all students. Thank you for your continued partnership—we look forward to a fantastic 2025!

Englesby Elementary School
Englesby Elementary is now home to a beautiful new Rock Garden! Students in grades K-5, along with staff members, have painted unique and colorful rocks, joining stones from the original 2020 Englesby Rock Garden. Each rock is a tiny masterpiece, just like the individuals who created them. Together, they form a vibrant river leading to a heart—a symbol of community and kindness.
This special garden will continue to grow over the years, serving as a lasting reminder of the amazing things we can accomplish when we come together!
Greenmont Elementary School
Attendance Matters at Greenmont!
At Greenmont Elementary, we continue to emphasize the importance of strong attendance and how missing school impacts a child’s education. To support this, our biweekly Attendance Matters section in the family newsletter will share helpful facts and tips to ensure your child is in school each day.
We’ve also launched an exciting new initiative—Greenmont Brag Tags! Every student who attends school daily for the month will earn a special brag tag to add to their chain. To kick things off, every child received a "We're Glad You Are Here" tag. We love seeing our hallways filled with our students and are here to support their daily attendance!

Celebrating i-Ready Success
In sixth, seventh, and eighth grade we have begun a friendly monthly competition of “Capture the Flag”. The competition is based on i-Ready Math and Reading Data that is analyzed each month. The winning class is recognized for the highest percentage of students who have passed their i-Ready Personalized Pathway lessons. At each grade level the teacher with the highest percentage of students passing in either Reading or Mathematics will win the privilege of having the flag hanging over their doorway for one month. Beware that the flag can be captured by another teacher/team each and every month!

From the Principal...
Each year at Dracut High School, we close out the year with our annual charity volleyball tournament. It is one of the many events that students look forward to each year. Our intrepid teachers also take part in the festivities! Although teachers have won the tournament in past years, the students came back with determination to claim victory. All members of the winning team won a Dracut Middies sweatshirt to commemorate their feat.
Apart from the fun and enjoyment, the tournament has a purpose; our students collected food and funds to donate to the Dracut Food Pantry. Along with the successful Giving Tree (thank you to all who contributed to those in need), the holiday season at DHS was a great success in many ways!
Poetry is Alive and Well at Dracut High!
Our annual Poetry Out Loud competition was held December 17th. Poetry Out Loud is a nationwide poetry recitation competition by which students improve their public speaking skills, build confidence, and learn about literary history and contemporary life. This year, eleven students participated in the competition and recited their poems before an audience consisting of their English classmates. This year’s winners were: Third Place: Katherine Thompson, Second Place: Sabrina Vitale, School Champion: Mackenzie Doyle. Mackenzie will compete in the state semi-final competition in March. Thank you to organizers Mr. Bolduc and Ms. O’Neil and judges Ms. Allard, Ms. Hayes, Ms. Hines, Ms. Kinley, and Ms. Surrette, pictured above

Project Lead the Way at work!
We are excited to have Project Lead the Way in the elementary schools through our Digital Literacy classes. This will ensure that all elementary schools are exposing students to this great program. Here is a photo of the Brookside 5th graders working on the Robotics module during their Digital Lit. class.
