Celebrating Student Success at the 76th Annual Regional STEAMM Fair Awards!
CMIT North is delighted to announce the remarkable achievements of our students at the 76th Annual STEAMM Fair Awards! Outperforming 33 high schools in PGCPS, 5 high schools in Calvert County, and 3 high schools in St. Mary's County, our students have showcased excellence in science, technology, engineering, arts, mathematics, and medicine (STEAMM).
- Joseph Tinio won First Place in Engineering Technology from the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics—National Capital (AIAA-NCS). As part of his award, he received an AIAA-NCS membership until his high school graduation, along with a memorable gift and $25. Additionally, he's been invited to participate in a two-day mission design lifecycle experience at NASA Goddard Spaceflight Center.
- Nehemiah Howard placed second in Biomedical & Health Sciences and received Meritorious Achievement recognition from the Commissioned Officers Association of the US Public Health Service for his innovative approach to public health concerns. He was awarded a $25.00 cash prize for his outstanding achievement.
- Christian Sopa was recognized by the Patent and Trademark Office Society for his exceptional originality, analysis, and clarity in science and technology. His project, now undergoing patent application, holds promise for exclusive rights, commercialization opportunities, and partnerships upon approval. A patent can also boost project value, attract investors, and bolster credibility in the field.
- Erykah Watson earned third place in the Animal Science category, showcasing her dedication and expertise in the field. Her outstanding performance garnered recognition from judges and peers alike for her meticulous research and innovative approach to animal science.
11th Grade VSU College Tour!
The class of 2025 will be taking a college tour to Virginia State University on April 19. The cost of the trip is $62 per student. The total includes the transportation and also a meal for the students. We will leave the school at 8:45AM and return after school hours at about 4:00PM.
Students have been given a field trip form. If you would like for your child to attend this college tour, please submit payment in the form of either cash, money order, or check. Details have been explained on the permission slip. Please fill out the form and return to Ms. Upshaw by April 8, 2024.

CMIT Drama Club will hold auditions for a workshop and performance of scenes and songs for the spring. Auditions will be held Thursday 4/4, Monday 4/8, and Tuesday 4/9 Please prepare up to 3 minutes including one or more of the following:

Scene
Song
Dance
Audition selections DO NOT need to be memorized. Workshops will begin after Spring Break.

Dear AP Stat class,
Thank you for participating in today's AP Stat Mock test. I hope the experience was valuable and helped alleviate some of your exam-related stress. As we transition from spring break, it's essential to strike a balance between resting and studying.
As we approach the upcoming AP exams, it's imperative to dedicate focused time and effort to thorough review. To aid you in this endeavor, we've curated a list of valuable resources:

The Ultimate HBCU Experience is back! This year we’re exploring technological and innovative majors at HBCU’s. Participants will experience a day in the life of an HBCU college student with interactive panels and workshops. We will turn our facility into a mini college campus and simulate the process of choosing a class track, working with FASFA, going through orientation, and roommate assignments. The day will also integrate the rich legacy and traditions synonymous with HBCU’s with a fashion show, step show, and live entertainment. Register today!
