Course Merge 101 for 2022-2023

As a teacher, you don't need to do ANYTHING unless you are a "special" teacher (meaning, special education or you teach multiple classes in the same period, such as French 1 and French 2 both during 3rd period). If you are a "special" teacher, I'll email you for clarification OR you can fill out this Course Merge Request form.

The only thing to be aware of is which course you should use when you're adding materials to your course in itslearning (see 3rd section). You can see which schools I've done or am working on by going to the last section.

This is a little more complicated...

High School: Use the course whose 2nd digit is a 0 (ex: 10035y).

Middle School: Y'all are my complicated friends!

• On-level courses: use the course that ends in 10 (ex: 8110)
• Advanced courses: use the course that ends in 20 (ex: 6120)
• Accelerated courses: use the course that ends in 25 (ex: 7225)
• Algebra I: use 20455
• Physical Science: use 32305

Hopefully, before school starts!

I started merging high schools on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 and will move to middle schools as soon as I am able. Some school ITSs are doing their own, so I'll also keep an updated list here as we complete schools. Remember that the merge won't complete until the next sync so if I finish a school on Wednesday, you won't see it as merged until Thursday.

FVA will be the LAST school merged to give enough time for scheduling to wrap up.

REMEMBER: Until the merge is complete, work in the course that will remain (see above)!

Just like last year, we will open the ability for teachers to edit their own "friendly names" but that will come later and possibly not until after school starts. Once it's an option, you'll have about 2-3 weeks to add that nickname.
