Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Dear Students, Parents, and Staff,
I want to thank everyone for your hard work and patience at the start of the 2024-2025 school year. I know it has been a challenge with a great deal of turnover in the office, lack of paraprofessional support, recess support, lunch support, and new software that we all have to learn! Through it all, the commitment from each of you stands out as our greatest strength. The constant through it all is, YOU!
You show up and do what is needed and best for our students and kids each and every day. There are no insignificant roles in our school, everyone who works with kids either directly or indirectly plays such an important and vital role.
Thank you!
Chad E. Schraufnagel

LAKE COUNTRY SCHOOL PTO
Lake Country PTO is a nonprofit parent teacher organization whose membership includes all staff, parents, and legal guardians of students attending Lake Country School. The PTOβs mission is to establish a close relationship between home and school by advancing opportunities for all parents to become involved in the Lake Country School community.
The PTO sponsors assistance to teachers in classroom settings, raises funds for supplemental educational materials and experiences, supports school and family social interaction, and provides a forum for sharing information on issues that impact our children. The PTO believes that when parents support school through a positive partnership, it offers the best possible learning environment for our children.

The Lake Country School Wildcats Band Booster Club will be selling pizza, breadsticks and water after the concert. Come support your kids and the band program! You can preorder through Wednesday, October 16, through this link: https://givebutter.com/vbZyfE
The Lake Country School Wildcats Band Booster Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and will be fundraising throughout the year to support the band program's needs. Lake Country School has a proud history of supporting the arts and historically has been an important feeder to the band program at Arrowhead High School.
Throughout the years, the community has played a huge part of the students' success with the understanding that we donβt get there by funding these important programs at the state minimum.
As our school family knows, because the referendum didnβt pass, many of our fine art programs such as band have been facing funding challenges. We were all overwhelmed with the response to keep this program at a 100%, full-time level. Thank you for all of your support, this is about supporting our children through a well-rounded education inclusive of the programs.
Currently, Lake Country School has 134 kids in band and we want to continue to grow their musical knowledge and the entire schoolβs interest in band. We invite you to become a part of the band booster club! Bring your ideas and continue supporting your kids!
LCS STUDENT COUNCIL
Student Council is open to all students in 5-8th grade. We will meet once a month on the second Tuesday of the month till 4:15pm. Activities involve planning spirit days, community service projects and other school activities to build community. See Mrs. Thurin for any questions.

Strategies to Make Homework Go More Smoothly
Homework has been around as long as public schools have, and over the years considerable research has been conducted regarding the efficacy of homework practices. Besides contributing to academic success, homework can help teach children how to take responsibility for tasks and how to work independently. Homework helps children develop habits of mind that will serve them well as they proceed through school and through life. Specifically, homework helps children learn how to plan and organize tasks, manage time, make choices, and problem solve. All of these skills contribute to effective functioning in the adult world of work and families. Homework also helps parents stay involved with their childβs education.
We encourage parents to help and assist their children to follow a nightly homework routine. Below are some recommendations from the National Association of School Psychologists. If you have further questions please reach out to your childβs teacher. CLICK HERE FOR HELPFUL HOMEWORK ROUTINES
If you have further questions, concerns or need to collaborate about your childβs education or social/emotional/behavioral health; please reach out to your Student Support Team.
