CAREER PLANS-STEP 2
The window for students to review and change their career plans is from December 6th through December 13th. During this time, students can make any necessary changes to their class selections. It is important to note that the classes they finalize by the end of this window will be recorded on their course requests acknowledgement form. This form will serve as the basis for one-on-one meetings with their counselors, which are scheduled to take place in the early part of the Spring semester.

SENIOR EXAM EXEMPTIONS
FAFSA REMINDER
Attention Seniors: The 2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) has opened as of November 18th. All seniors must complete the FAFSA as part of their graduation requirements. Seniors have two options: opt-out of the FAFSA via their Skyward account or complete the FASFA and upload a screenshot of the confirmation to Xello. Completing the FAFSA is a crucial step for any student planning to attend college next year.
90% MAKE-UP HOURS
Students who have not completed 90% of their required make-up hours must finish by December 14th. Failure to make up these hours by the deadline could result in losing credit for certain courses. The amount of credit lost will be determined by the specific number of make-up hours that remain incomplete. Please encourage your student to complete their make-up hours before the deadline.

VAPING: What's in an E-Cigarette
The "e-juice" that fills e-cigarette cartridges or vapes usually contain nicotine, propylene glycol, flavorings and other harmful chemicals. Additionally, when the e-cigarette liquid heats up, more toxic chemicals are formed. There are currently no FDA issued standards on e-cigarettes. Researchers have found these toxic chemicals in e-cigarettes:
- Nicotine
- Propylene glycol- used to make antifreeze and paint solvent
- Carcinogens- chemicals known to cause cancer such as formaldehyde
- Acrolein- a herbicide used to kill weeds that causes irreversible lung damage
- Diacetyl- a chemical linked to lung disease
- Diethylene glycol- a toxic chemical used in antifreeze
- Heavy metals such as nickel, tin, and lead
- Cadmium- A toxic metal found in traditional cigarettes
- Benzene- A volatile compound found in car exhaust
- Ultrafine particles that can be inhaled deep into the lungs
- Sometimes THC and/or other drugs
