We continue working on our character traits this month with gratitude. Students will work in their classrooms learning about what it looks like, how they can demonstrate it as well as help others show gratitude.

We are finishing up our first trimester of learning on November 22. Students will have celebrations in their classrooms on that day to celebrate their learning so far this year.

We will not have school the week of November 25 due to staff professional development, grading day and the Thanksgiving holiday.

Congratulations to our 24/25 Student Leaders! We will meet one Friday each month, with a few extra meetings here and there as student leadership is needed. This week we will brainstorm ideas of how our Leaders can have a positive impact at Evergreen Park.

This month our second and third grade students will take the CogAt test. Students should not study or prepare for the CogAT test, as it is not meant to assess core curriculum such as math and reading. The CogAT shows us how well a child can reason abstractly and identify patterns and relationships in the world around them. Grade 3 Testing Dates: November 11, 13, 14

Evergreen Park Elementary is honoring our veterans on November 11. If you have a veteran in your family please return the blue sheet from your child’s classroom by November 7 and that individual will be added to our Wall of Honor.

Picture Retake day is November 8.

We will be celebrating Native American Heritage Month from November 18th-November 22nd. We will be learning about Native American history and how that is also American history. This will include learning about the different traditions, celebrations, and food of the Native American culture.

With it being November the weather will be turning colder. Please make sure your child is dressed for recess. We still go outside for recess each day unless it is -10 degrees windchill, 0 degrees temperature, or raining. Jacket, hats, gloves/mittens, snow pants and boots are needed. If you are in need of resources please reach out to our social worker team.

Additionally, Lacy, Katara, Quantina, Jessica and Sara came in to help with teacher projects and/or fundraiser preparation. We appreciate you!
