A Message from Principal Buchko

Dear MacArthur Families,

I am incredibly proud of our 2nd and 3rd grade students for completing their IREAD-3 assessment! Their hard work and dedication truly shine.

A huge thank you to our PTO for sponsoring our annual Fun Fair this Saturday, March 8th from 10:00 – 2:00. Be sure to stop by and enjoy a day of family fun! This year, we have a special guest--- a sloth! (I’m still holding out hope that one day our PTO will surprise me with a panda or a giraffe. I’ve been asking for years, but no luck yet---lol!)

Looking ahead, we are excited to celebrate our National Elementary Honor Society Induction is on Wednesday, March 12th. This prestigious organization recognizes 4th and 5th grade students for their academic achievement and service to their school and community. NEHS helps students develop leadership skills and a commitment to service. NEHS focuses on 4 key pillars: Scholarship, Responsibility, Service, and Leadership. As a school, we are committed to fostering these values and helping all students understand the power of positive actions through our own example.

With March here, the rest of the school year will fly by! Here are some important dates to keep in mind:

Kids Heart Challenge

Hello MacArthur Families,

We are gearing up for our Kids Heart Challenge program to help fight heart disease and stroke! This year’s Heart Heroes invite you to our party celebrating the 100th birthday of the American Heart Association!

As a Kids Heart Challenge Heart Hero, your student will meet kids with special hearts and raise funds for the health of all hearts. They’ll also get moving with fun activities, learn about keeping their hearts and brains healthy and feel great for helping others.

Please help your child get started by registering here: http://www2.heart.org/goto/MacArthur and walk them through setting up their page and sending emails to family and friends! We encourage

your entire family to watch the Hands Only CPR video to help us create a nation of lifesavers.

Please convert all cash to a check made payable to the American Heart Association. Facebook donations to your child’s page may take up to 72 hours to appear.

If your child will be five years old before August 1, 2025, and you live in the district boundaries, we invite you to enroll now on our website. More information about enrollment and next steps are available online.

If your child is already part of our school community through Bulldog Buddies Preschool, you do not need to complete this process. You'll hear soon from your child's elementary with next steps.
