Back to School 3-5 News
A Note from Mrs. Hobbs
Welcome back! We are so excited to begin school. This newsletter features all of the back to school information to help you get started. Each month you will receive an update on the fun, leadership, and learning taking place in grades third, fourth, and fifth here at Clever.
The beginning of the school year is very busy, teachers have been preparing classrooms and lessons for the start of the school year. When students return to school on Tuesday, August 20th, we will be ready to greet them and provide a positive school experience. We look forward to a year full of learning, leadership, and laughter. Our theme this year is "Leader Up"!

ATTENDANCE MATTERS
TRANSPORTATION
VISITORS AND VOLUNTEERS
Visitors are able to complete our onsite background check, Raptor, with a personal ID the day of their visit.
Volunteers will need to complete the Missouri Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR). It provides a more extensive background check than our Raptor system, which is needed for volunteers who spend more individual time with students than our visitors.
Volunteers must go through a two-step process each school year:
Register with the FCSR for the first time *OR* Update your current information with the FCSR if you have ever registered in the past.
Return the completed FCSR paper form (page 2) to your student's school.
The FCSR requires volunteers to complete an online registration process that involves a one-time, lifetime fee of $15.55. It is the responsibility of the volunteer to cover this one-time, lifetime fee. The online registration process can be found at FCSR-BSEES - MO.gov. (NOTE: This registration process CANNOT be completed on a mobile browser/device.)
If you have registered in the past, please ensure that all personal information is current with the Family Care Safety Registry by calling 1-866-422-6872 before submitting your paper form. Incorrect information in their system will delay clearance.
Once the online portion is complete, a paper FCSR form must be filled out and submitted to your student’s school each school year. This form can be found here.
Take note, the wait time for the FCSR information to be processed at the state level and for the district to be notified can possibly take up to 30 days. We recommend completing this process as early as possible each school year. An email or letter from the FCSR will not be accepted as a cleared status.

COMMUNICATION
Now, Clever R-V is making it easier to stay in touch with teachers and class information from that same app. Using the Clever R-V app you can easily switch from district and school information to Rooms, where you can see your student's classes and engage directly with teachers. Rooms can be accessed via the web and from our district app, which is available for free and can be used from both Apple and Android phones. To access Rooms, you will need to create a login and password.
Three Main Benefits:
- One app for everything Clever R-V
- Easily see class specific announcements
- Message teachers directly
Beginning this school year, all communication from teachers, coaches, and club sponsors will come through Rooms. We will no longer be utilizing Remind, SeeSaw, or other communication apps. Please be watching your email for a communication from Edurooms. The email will give you steps to sign up for your Rooms account.

Personal Electronic Devices (PED'S)
Personal electronic devices (PEDs) are defined as any cell phones, wearable device, radios, tape players, CD players, MP3/iPods players, laptops, portable video games, etc.
The inappropriate use of PEDs or other disruptive devices in school poses increasing risk of disruptions, bullying, criminal activity, and academic dishonesty.
The Clever R-V board of education prohibits the use of PEDs during instructional time from 7:53 am to 3:40 pm on any day that school is in session. This includes the use of restrooms, water breaks, and during a class period.
LUNCHROOM
Starting this academic year, we will no longer permit elementary (K-5) students to utilize microwaves in the cafeteria. If you would like to send your child to school with a warm lunch we utilize a thermos. Our cafeteria also serves a delicious warm lunch.
Please understand this decision is made with safety as a number one priority.
Technology
Clever Schools is implementing a Technology User Fee for grades K-7.
The Technology User Fee will be $25 for each student, we will be pushing out invoices for this through MySchoolBucks, https://login.myschoolbucks.com/, which is used to pay your lunch balances. Please watch your email starting in July for the invoices to come out.
This fee can be paid over the next 7 months if needed, you will be able to make partial payments until December 31, 2024.
