Above is the Physical Education schedule for both Nodland and Sunnyside. Please have your child/children wear proper tennis shoes to class for their safety. We run, jump, and move in many different directions in class. Dudes, boots, crocks, or any footwear with a slick sole are not proper PE footwear. PE days, have your student bring tennis shoes in their backpack and change into other shoes after class if that is their preference.

Since the holidays are coming, it would be great to practice tying shoes with your student. Thirty-five percent of the students at Nodland can tie their shoes. At Sunnyside, we have students who cannot tie their shoes. Mrs. Janssen has a video to help the students learn how to tie their shoes.

NODLAND/SUNNYSIDE FOOD DRIVE

Nodland donated 2000 pounds of food to the Community Action Agency! Congratulations to Mrs. Schoonover's 1st Grade Class for collecting 2360 items and winning a pizza party. A Big Thank You goes to all our wonderful Families and Staff for making our annual food drive such a sucess.

Sunnyside raised over 11,000 items! The items were donated to East High for their "Food for Thought" bags and to the Morningside Lutheran Food Bank! Congratulations to Mr. Dickman's class for winning a pizza party for their classroom!

Sunnyside: Breakfast is served from 8:00am - 8:30am. Walk and talk starts at 8:30 and the first bell rings at 8:35. There is no staff on duty to supervise your student until 8:30.

Nodland: Breakfast is served from 8:00am - 8:20am. There is no staff on duty to supervise your student until 8:20.

Winter break is quickly approaching! School will dismiss one hour early on Wednesday, December 21. School will not be in session from December 22 through January 2, resuming on Tuesday, January 3.

Parents and guardians have the right to decide to keep their child home on any day they feel it is unsafe for their student to be in school because of weather conditions. If you believe the weather provides a sincere reason why you may have to keep your student at home, or take your student home when classes are scheduled to continue, you as a parent or guardian will simply need to contact our school office to let us know. The District sends out important information regarding school closings and cancellations and other updates to our families via phone, email, and text. Additionally, our school will contact you in case of an emergency or student health concern. Make sure your contact information is updated in our system and that your phone accepts the school’s phone calls. Doing this will ensure you receive school communication promptly and we can reach you in case of an emergency. To make updates to your contact information, please contact our office.
