Our Learning Community...
Welcome back from Fall Break!
We hope you all had a restful and joyful time with loved ones, taking in the beauty of the season. As we return to school, we enter a time filled with many celebrations and traditions. From Mawlid Al-Nabi and Bodhi Day to Our Lady of Guadalupe Day, Chanukah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa, this is a season rich with cultural and spiritual meaning for many in our community.
We look forward to sharing in this special time, learning from one another, and celebrating the diverse traditions that make our school community so vibrant.

Wildly Important Goals
You may recognize the bulletin board below as you have been on campus. This space continues to be the home for celebrating the Dolphin Leadership Tickets that have been drawn during the weekly morning announcements. As a part of expanding Leadership this year we are focusing on setting Wildly Important Goals (WIGs) and have added thermometers to help track our school wide progress.
As you know, goal setting has been a core part of our growth-oriented community for many years. It has driven our students to learn, reflect, and succeed, while fostering a mindset that values progress and continuous improvement.
This year, we are expanding and enhancing this important work. In addition to school wide WIGs, each classroom and individual students will soon be setting their own WIGs. Students will track their own progress and we will collectively monitor our school and classroom WIGs which includes making our progress more visible. This approach will ensure that everyone is actively engaged in meaningful, achievable, and measurable goals that contribute to the success of our learning community.
Our aim is to empower students by having them articulate and track their goals while also celebrating their milestones. By making these efforts more public, we strengthen the partnership between school and home, creating opportunities for you to share in and support your child’s growth.
We are looking forward to seeing how our students thrive under this new, more integrated goal-setting practice. Thank you for your continued support as we work together to inspire and achieve greatness!

The PTA plays a crucial role in fostering strong family engagement at Jones Elementary. By organizing activities that bring families, students, and staff together, the PTA helps grow a stronger sense of belonging within our school community. These events not only strengthen relationships but also empower families to be active participants in their children's education, enhancing student success and building a supportive, collaborative school environment. Thank you for the leadership of our PTA Executive Board members, the volunteers that plan and execute PTA events, and all of you who participate. Check out what our PTA is up to...
