Parent/Teacher Conferences - Thursday, October 10
We are excited to welcome parents/guardians into the building this Thursday (October 10) for our second round of parent/teacher conferences. If you have not signed up for a conference, please contact your child's teacher. Teachers have been working really hard to prepare for conferences and have a lot of important information to share!
Need to schedule a conference with a related arts teacher - art, music, PE or library? If you would like to meet with one of your student's related arts teachers during conferences, please email them directly. Click here to ensure you are contacting the correct teacher for your student.
The Blacklick PTO is catering the main dish for our conference night this week for the Blacklick staff but needs some help with the extras. If you are interested in donating an item, please click on the links below. Thank you in advance! The Blacklick staff is very appreciative!

Panorama Survey - Students in Grades 3, 4, and 5
Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will be taking the Panorama Survey. This tool will provide us with information on student perceptions regarding topics such as school climate, sense of belonging, cultural diversity and social awareness.
The administration window for the survey this semester will be October 14 through November 1, 2024. During this administration, we will be seeking the opinions of students in grades 3, 4 and 5 via an online needs assessment survey that we expect to take approximately 20 minutes to complete. Once the data has been received, we will use the results to guide staff conversations around how we can best support students’ needs on a social-emotional level. A follow up survey will be administered again at the end of second semester to help us determine the effectiveness of programming put into place throughout the year. We invite you to access the Panorama Demo to preview a sample survey.
If you would like to opt your child out of taking this survey, please EMAIL Mrs. Groves (grovesk@gjps.org) by October 11, 2024.

Blacklick Related Arts Update!
Library in Kindergarten
Kindergartners just finished voting for the Buckeye Book Award! We read the five nominated books and each child had a chance to vote on Ohio’s state award, voted on only by students in our state. We have also been reviewing parts of the book and they are quickly becoming experts!
Music in Kindergarten
Kindergarteners have been having the BEST time in music class singing songs, learning games, and playing egg shaker instruments.
Kindergarteners love the song Five Perfect Pumpkins by Stephanie Leavell (you can find it on YouTube!)
Students will be bringing home an “Ask Me” sheet soon with the song lyrics to sing for you at home.
Happy singing! :)
Art in Kindergarten
Kindergarteners are learning about different types of lines, and using them in so many creative ways! We are currently creating Line Monsters, in which we used oil pastel and watercolor. Now we are practicing those cutting and gluing skills and adding silly faces!
