Your Hayes PTA is having a blast planning and plotting and hosting, but I would like to point out that while it seems we’re all fun and games, this organization is actually a business! A business run by a group of dedicated VOLUNTEERS. As your President, I am happy to inform you that this non-profit parent-teacher entity, which you all so generously support, is in GOOD STANDING with the Local, State and National PTA Affiliates. What does this mean? It means that while not only doing incredible things for students and staff on your campus, your PTA leaders are ALSO showing a commitment to excellence in running the business of your PTA. Well done to our PTA Board and its volunteers and now, back to the fun!

All month long in November, your PTA is celebrating the importance of our organization within school communities! Parent Teacher Associations are a unique in that they are designed to enhance the relationships between parents and teachers while also fostering a more engaging environment with students through programs, events, and fundraising efforts to improve the activities, technology, and appearance of the school.

Parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles can support the PTA by joining our organization for only $10 annually and student memberships are only $8. Each student PTA member will receive a PTA brag tag! Check out the prizes below for the top grade and class signed up to be PTA members, by the end of November!

While we always wish for volunteer help and donation assistance, please recognize that your membership includes a small donation directly to the Hayes PTA…this is an easy and efficient way to be involved with the PTA.

Fourth grade is in the lead for the top grade!!! The top grade will get an extra recess in December and the top class will have a popsicle party! Mrs. Zubia’s Kinder class and Mrs. Teter’s 4th grade class are TIED so far!!! We only have a couple weeks left in the month! We appreciate your continued support!

Get those shopping lists together! The Wonderland Holiday Shop is coming to Hayes from December 17th-19th. Students will shop for special gifts for their family and friends. This event is always fun, festive and super exciting for little Hawks! More information will be coming soon on volunteer opportunities (we need lots of extra hands to help our little shoppers spend their money wisely)!

Each year our outstanding, outgoing 5th grade students are celebrated by your PTA. The PTA 5th Grade Party Committee plans and organizes a party and creates a special 5th Grade T-shirt to commemorate their last year in elementary school. We have already begun planning and the t-shirts will be ready soon. Please keep an eye on our newsletter and Hayes Elementary PTA FB page for information and details on how to order these keepsakes! Also, if you’re interested in helping out with the 5th grade party planning, we would love to hear from you, please email jhevolunteers@gmail.com and type 5th Grade Party in the subject line!

PTA hosts two class parties over the year, the Thankful Party in November, and the Friendship Party in February. These class parties are planned, paid for, and executed solely by the PTA and your donations. We ask that each child donate $10 to the class party fund. That is only $5 per party/per child. Snacks, games, crafts are enjoyed by all children in attendance, and we always welcome parents! Please consider donating so we can continue this special tradition!
