From the Principal...
Dear Colbert Families,
Welcome to the start of another exciting school year! We are thrilled to have you and your children as part of our Colbert family, and we look forward to a year filled with growth, learning, and memorable experiences.
At Colbert Elementary, our mission is to create a safe and inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported. We are committed to building positive relationships that foster both academic achievement and personal growth. We understand that each child is unique, and we are dedicated to meeting them where they are, adapting our teaching to ensure that every student can thrive.
Our vision for our students is clear: We aim for them to leave Colbert Elementary as kind citizens, equipped with the emotional and academic stamina to be ready for whatever the future holds. We believe that with your support and collaboration, we can achieve this together.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child's education. Let's make this school year one of the best yet!
Warm regards,
Cari Trowbridge
Principal
Classroom Placement
This year we will be sending out classroom placement emails to let families know who their child(ren) have as a teacher. The emails will be sent out on Wednesday, August 28. That evening we will be hosting our Ice Cream Social from 4:30 - 6:00 where students can come and meet their new teacher! Kindergarten families will be getting a call from their teacher to schedule their family conference. The family conferences will take place September 3-5, and the first day of kindergarten will be Friday, September 6.
Helpful Reminders for Pick Up and Drop Off
- All students line up on the back blacktop, parents can drop them off in the drop off line in front of the school, or walk them to the gate on the east side of the school. Parents will not be allowed to go through the gate to the blacktop. We will have plenty of staff available to walk students to their line, especially with our kindergarteners on their first day.
- If you are using the drop off/pick up line in front of the school please pull all the way forward before you stop your car.
- Please do not park and get out of your car in this line.
- For the safety of our students and families, dogs are not allowed on school property during drop off and pick up.
- If you are walking to and from the front of the building to the parking lot we ask that you use the sidewalk in the bus loop, or along the street. Do not cut across the middle of the bus loop.
Technology Use at Colbert
Please read the information below as it pertains to technology use at Colbert.
- Cell phones must be turned off and in a backpack during school hours. If a cell phone is out during the school day, it will be taken for the remainder of the day and parents will be informed.
