Great growth is often achieved through great challenges. In this keynote, Trevor celebrates educators’ accomplishments during COVID and highlights the wisdom and best practices revealed in this unprecedented time. From adopting new technologies to authentically engaging students remotely, the skills, habits and connections developed during the pandemic can transform and improve how we teach forever. From new teachers who navigated their education during the pandemic, to the educators who were in the classroom during it, this talk is about sharing ideas, concrete practices, and inspiration gained from this challenging time in order to thrive as we move forward.

Learn about hands-on tools for STEAM, creating, and making in your elementary classroom. Through this self-paced course, you will explore tools, resources, and lessons to get you started and/or add to an already existing curriculum. This series includes 3 hours of asynchronous instruction in Teachable with an additional 2 hours of potential group or individual coaching, face-to-face and/or online coaching, evaluation, and support for participants.

The Thriving, Not Just Surviving: New Teacher Series is designed to meet the needs of new teachers and assist them in topics such as classroom culture and relationships, communication, social-emotional learning, innovative teaching ideas, managing stress, mentor/mentee relationships, professionalism, and growing your Professional Learning Network.

One-on-one classroom coaching will also be available to all participants throughout the year.

This series is great for any teacher in their first to third year of teaching. Participants should be prepared to network, engage in hands-on learning, share some laughs and tears in a safe judgement free environment.

Prior to my current position, I worked as an EdTech Consultant for Jackson County ISD, Instructional Coach for Adrian Public Schools. I have also taught Reading and PE in Silverthorn, CO, Deming, WA, and Adrian, MI

I am passionate about educational innovation, maker-centered learning, STEAM educations, student-centered learning, and of course technology integration. I believe that every child should have the chance to inquire, create, innovate, and play every day.

How can I support you or your district:

• Consulting and Resources- Provide an opportunity for a brainstorming session to bounce ideas off of one another. Hunt for resources and activities to match the needs of your school or classroom.
  
  

• Team Teaching Experience-After planning cooperatively, teach a lesson together involving an innovative idea, technology, STEAM, or makerspace.
  
  

• Co-planning-Collaboratively plan a lesson or series of lessons that use technology, innovative idea, STEAM or makerspaces, and meets best practice.
  
  

• Demonstration Lesson-Demonstrate a makerspace or STEAM activity, or a piece of technology in your classroom while you observe.
  
  

• Classroom Engagement and Customization Support-Help design and implement engagement activities and design technology choice assignments or tiered activities.
  
  

• New Teacher Support- Assist new teachers in topics such as classroom management, classroom engagement, innovative teaching ideas, understanding and handling student behaviors, how to manage stress, mentor/mentee relationships, curriculum expectations, and network support.
