Notes from the Principal
The end of the first semester is here. I have loved getting to know our students and staff members during my first 5 months as the principal. I'm excited for the second semester, the return of sunshine, spring sports, and preparing for graduation. As a reminder, there are some major upcoming events for our district and for education as a whole in our state. January 6th our district will release information about the schools it will recommend for closure and consolidation. The board will have the final decision on those closures and we should know in February what their decision will be. At a state level, the governor has released his budget with no recommended changes to public school funding, although he did mention additional talks about education would occur as they move through the budgetary process. There will be much more to come on budget as we move into April and as our district tries to plan for next year. Finally, I hope you have a Merry Christmas and happy holidays. North Pole High School will start again on January 8th for students. We can’t wait to have kids and their smiles fill our hallways once again.
