Principal's Knightly News
January 4, 2024
Parents/Guardians,
Welcome back and happy new year! I pray that everyone, their families and friends are all safe. As a school, we will conduct a prayer service over the intercom at 9:00 a.m. on Monday. Please join us in praying for all the victims and their families of the tragic incident in New Orleans on January 1. We will continue to pray for peace in our world during our morning intentions.
January is a very busy month. Please be sure to read the newsletters and check the calendar. It will be updated as events are added. Please keep our seventh grade students in your prayers. They will take their high school entrance exams on Saturday, January 11th. We have an Open House on January 15, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. in the library for prospective students and their families for the 2025-2026 school year. Please share this information with anyone you think might be interested in joining our family. Teachers from each grade will be here that evening to share information and answer questions. For anyone who may not be able to make it, families may call the office and ask for Mrs. Maples. We are open for tours during the week by appointment.
God bless,
Lisa V. Duncan
Cold Weather Uniform Reminders
It's that time of year when the boys actually agree to wear pants instead of shorts. Since the weather has been cold keep in mind that all uniforms must be purchased from School Time. Boys are not permitted to wear any other pants. Please make sure they fit properly as well. Our children have grown and the old pants need to be replaced. You are able to purchase uniforms on-line for your convenience. If you have purchased items, and are waiting for them to arrive, please email me so the students do not get points taken off. Please check the length of girl's skirts and jumpers. They must be no shorter than two inches front and back. Girls are permitted to wear solid tights or straight full length leggings. The only colors permitted are maroon, gray, white or black. They still need to wear socks with them. Please make sure your students have adequate outerwear for recess and walking to church. It is extremely important that all sweatshirts, jackets and coats are labeled with your child's name. That way the items can find their missing owners. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!

Over the Christmas break The OLL soccer team beat Lake Castle 5-3. Congratulations to our soccer team and Coach Brian Sprague!!

The OLL basketball team played in the John Curtis Christmas Classic for the third year in a row. The competition is great since the majority of the schools have eighth graders, but our team won their first game and received a trophy. They are playing in the PJP Christian Tullis memorial Tournament at PJP this weekend. Congratulations to the team and Coach Jeff Benedic for all your hard work!!
Alumni Corner
We are very proud of our alumni Angela Kelley and Genevieve Delaney who were selected as PJP's 8th and 12th grade "Students of the Year". Congratulations ladies and good luck as you precede to the Archdiocesean competition.
