Message from the Principal
Dear Mustangs,
I hope this message finds you well and ready for an exciting week at The Ranch!
Elective Fair – Tomorrow, November 18th
We are thrilled to announce that tomorrow, Monday, November 18th, we will host our Elective Fair during the school day. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to explore the wide range of elective courses and programs offered at Otay Ranch High School. Teachers, counselors, and staff will be available to answer questions and provide insights as students prepare to select their courses for the 2025-2026 academic year. We encourage all students to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about the unique programs that make our school so special.
Celebrating Mustang Robotics
A huge congratulations to Mustang Robotics for their outstanding performance at the South San Diego High Stakes event this weekend! Teams from across Southern California competed for a chance to advance to the California State Championships in March. All five Mustang teams made it to the playoff rounds, with Team 507A being crowned Tournament Champion! Additionally, Team 507B received the prestigious Amaze Award. This was truly a phenomenal showing for Mustang Robotics—well done to all the students, coaches, and mentors involved!
Recognizing Fall Athletes
We also want to celebrate our fall student-athletes who were recognized last week at the Metropolitan Conference Fall Sports Awards Ceremony. Many of our students earned spots on All-League Teams for their respective sports, and we are incredibly proud of the following league championship teams:
- Boys Cross Country
- Girls Tennis
- Girls Flag Football
Best of luck to our Girls Flag Football Team as they compete in the CIF Semifinals this Tuesday against Torrey Pines High School. Let’s show them our Mustang pride as they continue their incredible season!
Winter Sports Spirit Week & Assembly
This week also marks the start of our Winter Sports Spirit Week as we kick off the winter sports season. Be sure to join us in celebrating our winter athletes throughout the week, culminating in our Winter Sports Assembly this Friday. Let’s bring the energy and show our Mustang spirit!
Thank you for your continued support of our school community. Let’s make it a fantastic week at Otay Ranch High School!
Go Mustangs!

Message to Students and Parents/Guardians: Cell Phone Use Policy Reminder
As we continue our academic journey together, we want to remind everyone of our cell phone use policy at Otay Ranch High School. To maintain a focused learning environment, cell phones should be turned off and stored away during class time, unless specifically permitted by your classroom teacher. This policy helps minimize distractions and supports our commitment to LEARNIG and academic excellence.
This policy is an essential part of upholding our core values of BLUE: Belonging, Learning, Unity, and Empathy. By following the cell phone policy, students demonstrate a commitment to their LEARNING and respect for the educational environment.
Students are allowed to use their phones during passing periods and lunch, but during instructional time, phones should not be visible or in use.
Remember, staying focused in class not only benefits your own learning but also supports the unity and belonging of our entire school community. Let's work together to create a space where everyone can thrive academically and feel valued.
Thank you for your cooperation and dedication to making Otay Ranch High School a place where learning comes first.

Mustangs,
To increase our efforts in ensuring the safety of our campus, we began issuing student parking permits at the ASB Finance windows (the ones that face the main office).
In order to get a parking permit, you will need to fill out the following registration form: Parking Permit Registration
(You must sign in with your Student Google Account)
After the form is completely filled out, you may come to the Finance windows and show your Valid Driver License. You will then be issued a parking permit that must be hung on your rear view mirror anytime you park on campus.
After a two week grace period, any car parked in student parking lots without a student parking permit will be subject to be being towed at the owner’s expense.
If you have any questions please let me know.
Thank you,
