The Wolf Weekly
October 28th- November 1st
Howls from the Principal’s Desk
As we begin a new week, let’s make reading a part of our daily routine at home. One simple way to boost literacy? Turn on TV captions! According to the World Literacy Foundation, children who read captions have double the chances of becoming strong readers. India recently passed a law requiring 50% of TV content to have subtitles by 2025 to support literacy!
Here’s how you can support reading this week:
- Turn on captions while watching TV.
- Encourage your child to read for 30 minutes daily and log their minutes in the Beanstack Challenge.
Current Stats:
- 90% of our students are logging minutes in Beanstack!
- Goal: 100% participation! Let’s work together to reach it.
Thank you for all you do to make our school a wonderful place for learning. Your support means the world to us!

Volunteer Background Check
CTIS Families,
In our continuous efforts to keep all children safe, MISD requires that all volunteers that will be working with students complete a background check. This includes parents volunteering on campus or field trips. In order to chaperone on any field trip, you must submit a background check application and we must receive approval before the field trip.
If possible, please submit your application as soon as possible to allow time for it to be processed and for us to receive your approval. The application process is free to you and only takes about three minutes to complete. Click the button below to complete the application. Just chose the link for Cross Timbers Intermediate.
Please do not hesitate to contact the front office if you have any questions.
