Northview HS Newsletter
February 26, 2024 Volume 1, Number 21

Northview Familia,
I am thrilled to share some exciting updates from Northview High School!
First and foremost, I am proud to announce that our school has achieved an outstanding average daily attendance rate of 97.2% for the week of 2/19 to 2/23! This remarkable statistic reflects the dedication and commitment of our students to their education, as well as the support of our staff and community.
In recent weeks, our students have had incredible opportunities for enrichment and growth outside the classroom. Ms. Docazal's Spanish class embarked on a cultural excursion to Olvera Street, immersing themselves in the rich heritage of the city of Los Angeles.
Our talented Marching Band had the honor of performing at an Ontario Reign hockey game, showcasing their musical prowess and school spirit to a wider audience. Such performances not only highlight the artistic talent of our students but also strengthen their teamwork and dedication to excellence. Check out some of their performances HERE and HERE.
Additionally, our FAME academy class embarked on an unforgettable journey to Warner Brother Studios, where they had the opportunity to explore the magic of filmmaking firsthand. This behind-the-scenes tour provided valuable insights into the entertainment industry and inspired our students to pursue their passions and dreams.
Our boys basketball team played in the CIF SS Division 4A Championship game at Toyota Arenas and will play on Tuesday night as part of the 2024 CIF State Division 4 Boys Basketball Championships.
Our Boys and Girls Wrestling teams continued their dominance in the sport this weekend as well. We had 6 girls and 4 boys qualify for state championships, with Sonny Acuna placing 6th in state, Samantha Rivera placing 6th in state, and Faith Bartoszek earning the title of state champion in her weight class.
These experiences exemplify Northview High School's commitment to providing a well-rounded education that extends beyond the confines of the classroom. By offering diverse opportunities for exploration and discovery, we empower our students to become lifelong learners and global citizens.
As always, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated faculty and staff for their unwavering support and dedication to our students' success. Together, we will continue to nurture a culture of excellence and innovation at Northview High School.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community.
Have a great week, Vikings!

Staff Spotlight
Mr. Blake Edwards is a quiet and kind asset here at the View. He is our history teacher and renowned wrestling coach! Blake has served our students well for the past 9 years.
Blake thoroughly enjoys being home with his wife and daughter. When presented the opportunity to try a new restaurant or food truck, you best believe that he will be first in line. He considers himself quite the foodie. So if you have any recommendations, send them his way!
