From the Principal.... Matt Clark
Hello TMS Families,
First off, a huge shout-out to our incredible PTO! They pampered the Thompson staff over the last two days during parent-teacher conferences, and let me tell you, we felt the love. From delicious treats to caffeine boosts, it’s very much appreciated. If the way to a teacher’s heart is through snacks, consider our hearts fully won!
Now this may be shocking to hear, but next week marks the end of the first quarter of the school year. It’s been a whirlwind start to the school year, with some fantastic highlights like our inaugural TMS Color-Palooza, a spirited Thunder Night, and successful curriculum nights. Plus, I don’t want to jinx it, but the weather has been cooperating so beautifully, I’m beginning to think we live in a brochure for perfect fall days.
Looking ahead to quarter two, we’ve got some exciting events on the horizon. Get ready for The Monster Bash, a dance where your middle schooler will either have the time of their life or claim “it was fine” (we know the truth). We’ll also be celebrating Veterans Day with our annual assembly, taking our 6th graders on Outdoor Education, and putting on the much anticipated fall musical Elf. To wrap up the quarter and calendar year, we’ll be in full festive mode for our 2nd annual Holiday Assembly.
With that, as we enter the second quarter, I wanted to revisit the expectations for morning drop off and highlight one adjustment that we will be making. Here is a reminder of the expectations for morning drop off:
The drop-off line is long, and school starts at 7:50. Please plan accordingly to avoid the rush.
Pull as far down as you can before your child exits the vehicle.
Have an airport mindset when dropping off…Kiss and go! Let’s keep it moving, folks!
Now, onto our slight procedural adjustment. Beginning on October 21st, Door 3 will be locked at 7:50 AM sharp (our goal will be to eventually lock Door 3 by 7:46 as first period begins at 7:50). Students arriving after 7:50 will be considered tardy and will need to enter through Door 1. Let’s make sure everyone gets here on time!
Enjoy the long weekend, recharge, and as always, Roll Thunder!

Just a heads up for those attending the Conference Volleyball tournament games this coming week...
