Floorball Camp
💲 MIT Grant Program
Madrona Integrated Team (MIT) has allocated $15,000 in grant money to be awarded over the course of the school year. All MIT members (parents, caregivers, students, teachers, etc) may apply for a grant up to $2,500 to benefit students at Madrona.
“Grant proposal” is just a fancy way of saying “write up your idea” 💡
The way you write it doesn’t need to be perfect - we will be looking at ideas, not spelling or grammar.
If you feel you need assistance writing up your grant application for any reason, please reach out to your friendly Grant Administrator.
We will be accepting submissions 3 times yearly. The first deadline is October 21, 2024, and we plan to announce awards November 4, 2024.
Full information and application
We are also looking for Grant Readers to read and score grant submissions to help determine recipients. We are expecting the time commitment to be a few hours 3 times yearly - how much time will depend on the number of applications. Apply here to be a Grant Reader
💵 MIT Scholarship Program
MIT understands that the costs associated with school may be a hardship for some families. The MIT community has determined that it is important to support our community during this time.
MIT has updated our scholarship program, so it is no longer dependent on qualifying for Free & Reduced Lunch in order to assist more of the community.
The fees covered by the Scholarship Program include:
Supply fees (also available under Free and Reduced Lunch benefits)
One ticket to Bear Scare
One Enrichment class per year
Field trip fees (also available under Free and Reduced Lunch benefits)
One yearbook & one pen
Anyone who thinks the cost of these items may be a hardship for their family should apply.
🏒 Floorball Camp 10/21-10/24
Floorball is Coming During Conference Week
Floorball camp is coming to Madrona for 4 days during conference week, October 21-24, 12:30-4pm each day for 1st - 5th graders. Sign up for each day individually at $39.20 per day. Registration opens October 1st at 8am and closes October 14th.
We need one adult volunteer to help each day of camp, and the volunteer will get their student a free session for that day.

🧠 Madrona Tips & Tidbits
🍇 What is Madrona Vineyard???
You've probably seen Madron Vineyard on the calendar, and maybe you've wondered what it is. Well, the Madrona Vineyard Committee is sharing with us for this week's tidbit!
Madrona's Vineyard is a monthly event for students, staff, and families of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community at Madrona K-8 school and surrounding areas. Madrona's Vineyard welcomes students who are siblings or signing friends of DHH students in the district as well as surrounding areas. Additionally, Madrona's Vineyard events are a time and deaf space for the DHH community to come together and spend time with their peers making connections and experiencing their community without the constraints of communication barriers.
The once-a-month event consists of an activity or speaker geared toward socializing with peers and/or learning about the DHH community and its rich culture. This is followed by a potluck-style meal.
Questions about Madrona's Vineyard can be emailed to Co-Chair Jennifer Luce

💰 Don't Leave Money on the Table
Employer volunteer hours match
Did you know that many employers will money match volunteer hours?
Many do including Microsoft, Boing, Sales Force, and Verizon, does yours? If you don't know ask your HR to find out!
If your company does match for volunteer hours don't leave that money on the table! Log your hours and be sure to choose either Madrona school in Edmonds, or Madrona Integrated Teams, depending on the program.
There are so many volunteer opportunities over the next couple weeks, and throughout the schoolyear, help Madrona by doubling your impact by having your employer match your hours!
